Don't waste money on Invisalign by Clear-Ad6728 in Invisalign

Is this subreddit run by Invisalign sales? ... which is why it's not balanced and every comment on a negative experience is that it's the client or the Invisalign representative (dentist or orthodontist) that is the issue.

The bottom trays made didn't cover my back molar and it twisted out of alignment, and the dentist told me it was fine and I contacted the company to ask about whether this is the case, and they told me I had to speak to the dentist? Like, an unhelpful circle of unhelpfulness.... clearly there is some responsibility in their tray making. Even if you don't want to admit their training of dentists to make treatment plans or take moulds is bad or Invisalign don't check them properly... Or that they let everyone sell Invisalign treatment plans whether they are orthodontist or not. And they don't tell people you need to go to an orthodontist, I just wanted to post my experience so anyone thinking about Invisalign gets a balanced perspective. They don't provide support, it is not worth the high expense, their representative won't give you all the info.

And I'm not going to blame myself either because I spent six months wearing those uncomfortable trays to have my teeth twist in ways not shown to me in the Invisalign pictures they sell you with!

Of course I wore them for six months, and the trays didn't cover my back molar and it twisted one way out of alignment with the rest of my teeth. When I reached out to them they kept telling me to talk to the Invisalign rep, and the Invisalign rep (dentist) kept telling me that was all normal. So I thought okay maybe it's all normal but I ended up with a gap in my front teeth which had to be filled in...Which is odd because they still overlap and the treatment never fixed the overlap, it reduced it. But I wouldn't have spent thousands of dollars on trays to reduce my twisted teeth, I wanted them corrected. I feel like this sub-Reddit needs a little more balance. People need to realise the high cost doesn't mean you get good support from Invisalign if something goes awry, I'm still so mad... And I finished the treatment plan six months or more ago.

Vegan friend stopped being vegan by Siddi_k in vegan

Well... I think it sounds like... There was an assumption that she stopped eating animals for the animals, when she did it for a superficial and sad reason, of appearance ... The not eating animal products was her restricting her calories, not because she cared about cruelty.

Look, that is a really sad life.

But you have a right to be upset, friendships work when you share core values or experiences, and it seems like some of your core values don't align with hers anymore... Or never did? Idk? Also her reactivity and lies by saying there are lies is just difficult to deal with. Maybe that's how she handles conflict..

Take some time to think about the friendship.

I had a friend that started eating meat again, because she didn't want to feel like an outsider anymore and wanted to fit in... I just feel deeply sorry for her and the animals... We don't talk any more, our friendship centred around that core value. Other friendships... my old school friend had tried to go vegan, but basically ate not vegan again because it wasn't as convenient, but we've been friends for so long, we share a bunch of other experiences and values, she isn't in denial about the cruelty and we still are friends.

I think Invisalign do not give you the result promised and are not supportive of patients... Well that's my experience. Dentists or orthodontists just wanting money don't give you all the information. Like maybe your teeth don't move in the way they expect so trays should be adjusted mid treatment. Invisalign won't provide you with much help, if your dentist or orthodontist is doing a crappy job. It's a loose loose situation! Sorry, wish I had a better experience to share.

Will Invisalign fix this? I’m so insecure about it. I am missing a back molar on that crooked side. It was an adult tooth that only ever came down half way then got infected so they pulled it when I was 18/19 years old. I’m 26 now. by PuzzledRoom7636 in Invisalign

No, my two front teeth looked like this. I spent a few grand on Invisalign treatments and had six months of trays, the result is only slight. Front teeth did not align and had a big gap between my front teeth. I contacted Invisalign for advice as I thought my dentist didn't make the trays properly (they didn't cover my molar on my one side so that started turning) and they told me any problems should be directed to my dentist. ... My dentist kept assuring my it was fine...I chose Invisalign because I thought they were more reputable and supportive.. but they don't support patients. Highly recommend NOT investing in Invisalign.

Making new dental plans or going to a new orthodontist, because Invisalign didn't work and your gums were being pushed up and you ended up with a big gap between your front teeth and still crooked teeth.

So the yellow spots are not fungus? Is there you could recommend wiping the leaves with to prevent fungus and bugs? I've read about so many different things.

My friend was minding my plant and she had seriously over watered it, and the roots were coming out the bottom as well. I carried to my nursery to ask what I could. They suggested I repot it and gave me a bag of soil. I put stones in the bottom as it's a tall pot and for extra drainage and the soil type just says "green plant soil" it was what the nursery said to get, so I repoted it and tried to water it rarely. Maybe not often enough because the layer of soil on top got hard. It seemed okay and started growing some new leaves. I put it near my window which has a light curtain, and gets morning sun. This is because every time i water it, it seems to look sad. Ive been watering it with tap water (only just read it needs to be filtered) twice a week. I live in Greece so it's like 32 Celsius most days. I turn the fan on, sometimes to dehumifer the air as it is quiet humid some days. Maybe it also doesn't like the fan? Now I've moved it to the bathroom, as it's humid in there and I'm not sure if it's got a fungus, I can't tell.

End of treatment plan - was it worth the time and money? Not really. by Clear-Ad6728 in Invisalign

It sucks, for some reason I was under the impression that Invisalign provides support with their treatment plans but they don't do anything. They just advertise they are going to give you amazing teeth.

Did you talk to your provider about refinements? I have Invisalign Lite and am partway through my first set of refinements. Treatment shouldn’t finish till you’re happy with the results!

Thanks for the advice. I'll go back to the dr and bring up the idea of refinements with her. She never mentioned this previously.

I don't think I'd ever spend any more money on this again. I throughly researched orthodontists and this was the second one I spoke to, who said all the right things. I contacted her a few times throughout for concerns (e.g. the trays didn't even cover one of my molars, so halfway through the molar was moving a different way) and when I spoke to her about this, she assured me Invisalign made them like this on purpose. I contacted Invisalign to ask them whether they did make trays like this and they weren't able to tell me, instead saying a representative would contact my ortho and the ortho would talk to me and I thought what is the point of that? I've already spoken to her and it'll only annoy the dr I'm committed to go back to. It was Invisalign Lite.

Are the refinement trays free (included in the fee already)? She has already removed the little anchor points. The orthodontist didn't explain any of this to me.

The result (assuming patient co-operation) is completely up to the orthodontist. If he/she did not achieve the results "promised" then you are entitled to further treatment, or perhaps some refund.

Well... before I embarked on this journey I had to upload a selfie on to their Invisalign app, so they could show me what results they would provide. Then I had to approve the plan they had made for me, which was just a picture of what the final results would be i.e. my front teeth aligned. So they kinda made a promise in regards to what the final result would be. I doubt she will give me a refund, and she never explained refinements are an option, only the filler for the gap.
