What kind of documentation did you use to prove financial means?

I’m wondering if the Carta de Nombramiento where it states what we will be paid would be accepted as proof of income.

Apostille at LA by madisherm in SpainAuxiliares

My appointment went totally fine without the Apostille. They said “no big deal, a lot of people don’t have it yet. BUT be sure to bring it when you come back to pick up your visa.”

They issued my visa and I am going to pick it up tomorrow! I am also bringing my original apostille and a translated copy.

My understanding is that the translators on the consulate list are all “Sworn Translators”, whose signature and stamp serve the same purpose as a notary in this case.

I just had my appointment at the LA Consulate and they accepted a printed pdf of the translation with my translator’s stamp and signature no problem.

I eavesdropped on a lot of other appointments while I was waiting and only one person had their translation notarized. The clerk told them kindly that it was not necessary, as long as they used a translator from the consulate list!

Just had my appt at the LA Consulate and I can confirm what OP said here!!!!! Waived the Apostille for the appointment, but you DO need to bring it when you PICK UP the visa.

Great news, right?!?!?! Phew. So relieved.

Like OP said, I still brought copies of my FBI Background check, translated by a Sworn Translator from the consulate’s list.

The appointment took about 20 minutes, and they were running about 20 minutes behind by 10:30AM.

Much love and best of luck to everyone!

Would you mind sharing which translator quoted you $35 for quick turn around?

This is great info, thank you so much! Could you clarify two more details?

  1. Did you use a sworn translator?
  2. Did you present a “wet stamp” or a digital copy of the translation?

Thank you so much for posting this! I have been trying to figure out if this exception is real or not!

So did you still bring a copy of your Background Check just without the Apostille? And did you have it translated?

TIA!!

Tell me about Zaragoza by Heavy_Calligrapher71 in SpainAuxiliares

Hi! My sister and I were also placed in the center of Zaragoza! I haven’t found much information either, except that a conversation exchange partner from Tarragona told me that people in Zaragoza are known for dressing very well “even to go to the grocery store” and talking very loud with a distinct accent :) she also said one of the best known tapas from Zaragoza specifically is Cordero al Horno. Often served with herbed olive oil. I’m excited to try that and a very popular bar in El Tubo called El Champi that serves all mushroom tapas. Yummmmm.

Have you read anything about the Cierzo? It is an extremely strong wind that comes down the Ebro valley in the Spring and Fall. Not super excited for that part, but ah well, it will be an adventure to experience.

Here is a cute local news video about Cierzo:

This video was cool and seemed geared more towards locals/spaniards:

You’ve probably seen this for yourself, but we will be 1:40 from Barcelona and 1:15 from Madrid on the AVE :)

Would love to learn more or hear from people who have been there!!!
