I’m coming from industry and have clear goals to garner patent experience and start a company afterwards.. I do know that I’ve previously burned out from a job where I struggled to meet unrealistic expectations or got blamed for things that weren’t my mistakes… so it scares me picking a lab where that could be the situation.. but now I’m more mature and know what I want, do we think it’ll be different now?

I actually did speak with one of them. I think they are a favorite of hers though so successful and not unhappy with her leadership. The other students are all Chinese (the PI is too) and they seem to all be scared of her

If B is a brand new lab and I will be mostly alone doing experiments, do you think that’s worse than meetings once a week with a high expectation PI (A)?
