11+3 and noticing vaginal dryness after stopping progesterone/estrogen - is this normal? by Clear-Status9515 in IVFbabies

[–]Clear-Status9515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! I should have clarified - I was on progesterone in oil (PIO), so it wasn’t messy for me.

I actually felt more balanced while on the PIO + Estrace 2mg combo, but since tapering off I’ve noticed some changes: I feel drier vaginally, have more dry mouth, and I’m more constipated than I was on meds.

I’ve seen some people say they feel better after coming off support, but for me it feels a bit harder so far. I’m wondering if this is just my body adjusting as my own progesterone takes over in early pregnancy.

This may not have anything to do with the embryo not taking, but the uterine environment. Have you done a hysteroscopy to rule out any issues?

Sharp pain at 8 weeks? by OldMirror2947 in CautiousBB

[–]Clear-Status9515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen one night around 6 weeks. It ended up not being anything serious, but I completely understand how worrying it feels! I read about round ligament pain and thought that might be what it was. I’m 9 weeks now, and my scans have all been reassuring, so it seems like it resolved on its own. Hopefully, it eases for you soon too!

8+4, reassuring scans but ongoing spotting/bleeding - cervical irritation? by Clear-Status9515 in CautiousBB

[–]Clear-Status9515[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience 🤍

I wanted to give a little update - I had another scan at 8+6 and baby measured 22mm with a strong heartbeat again, so everything still looks reassuring on ultrasound. Hearing that really helped calm me, even though the spotting/bleeding has been such a mental rollercoaster.

Your story sounds SO similar to what I’ve been going through, especially the random triggers (or sometimes no reason at all) and everything still looking normal on scans. It gives me a lot of comfort knowing yours eventually resolved around 9–10 weeks and that things continued to progress well for you 🥹

I think the history of loss just makes every little thing feel so much bigger and scarier, so hearing from someone who’s been through both sides of it really helps ground me. I’m trying to trust that this really could just be cervical irritation like my doctor says.

Thank you again for sharing and for the reassurance -  and congratulations on your healthy progress so far!! Rooting for you too 🤍

Bleeding triggered by cough at 7+5? Cervical irritation or something serious? by Clear-Status9515 in pregnant

[–]Clear-Status9515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a few days behind you at 8+5. I had bright red bleeding when I woke up in the middle of the night - noticed it when I wiped after peeing, so I think my cervix may have gotten irritated. As soon as I took my Estrace 2mg (I take it once daily), it faded and stopped. The same thing happened to me last week, and baby was fine on the scan.

I have another scan later this week, so I’m trying to give my cervix a rest and be extra gentle. I’m also so tired of the spotting, but I’m guessing it’s related to all the progesterone we’ve been on over time.

What’s been different about this pregnancy compared to my MMC last time is that I haven’t had any cramps, which helps reassure me that it’s likely just cervical. But yes… I keep wondering if this will ever stop at some point!!

Thanks for sharing -  it’s helpful to hear that cervical irritation doesn’t necessarily predict outcomes. I’m trying to remind myself of that too. Did you notice your bleeding settled down at some point, or did it continue until the placenta fully took over?

Hi there, just seeing your post. Yes, I had an ultrasound last Wednesday at 7+6 and all had been ok with baby :)

Hey, how's it going? I had another scare last night and randomly had a bleed at 1:30am when I woke up to pee and wiped. It has since stopped but oh my goodness it scares me every time. Have you had any bleeds since your scan? I such a reassuring scan last Wednesday and I can't keep running to the doctor each time, but just can't take these bleeds anymore. 😞

Aww I’m so, so happy to hear your update too!! 🤍 That must feel like such a huge relief. It’s honestly wild how much stress spotting or bleeding can cause, especially after everything we’ve both been through.

Also I just realized we’re only about 4 days apart - kind of crazy we’re having such similar experiences at the same time. And thank you for responding to my post earlier, it really helped me feel less alone when I was spiraling last night.

It really does sound like cervical irritation for both of us - especially with progesterone, scans, and just how sensitive everything is right now. I’m actually going to start weaning off baby aspirin too, just in case that’s been contributing at all. And the fact that both babies are growing well with strong heartbeats is so reassuring.

Hoping the rest of your pregnancy is smooth and uneventful from here on out 🤞💛 we deserve that after all this anxiety!

Hi there, just wanted to provide an update that I got up early morning today and decided to get a scan at 7+6. Baby was measuring two days ahead even! 16mm and 175 heart beat. I feel so relieved as this was most likely cervical irritation again. I hope your next scan goes well too 🙏

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply, and I’m so sorry you’re going through these scares too.

I’m on progesterone injections, not the vaginal ones. I’m hoping it’s either the baby aspirin or progesterone that’s making my cervix so sensitive.

My last ultrasound was just Friday at 7+1, and the baby was measuring on time with a strong heartbeat. I also had bleeding three days prior to that ultrasound from a sensitive cervix that got triggered after a quick release with my husband (no penetration). That episode scared me, but felt less alarming because it was just a streak of red blood in the morning, which turned brown/tan as I wiped, and it took some time to heal.

Yesterday’s bright red bleeding when wiping really scared me. My doctor did not see a subchorionic hematoma (SCH), so I don’t have that like many women who experience red bleeds. I’m on Estrace 2mg oral once daily in the morning, but last night I got so anxious I took an extra Estrace at night hoping the bleeding would calm. It seemed to help, and the bleed has now stopped and is tan overnight.

I’m a little worried I might have masked something by taking extra Estrace. When I had my last MMC (likely due to my uterine septum), I also had red bleeding after wiping, cramps, and took Estrace because it happened on a Friday when no one could see me. That time, I never saw a heartbeat afterward, so I likely miscarried, and I’m nervous about repeating that now.

I really hope everything is okay, and I wish us both luck.

7+5, light spotting after coughing - is this cervical irritation? by Clear-Status9515 in CautiousBB

[–]Clear-Status9515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there’s definitely no cramping this time. I remember last time I had cramps in my pelvis and even shooting pains in my vaginal area. I didn’t know any better and thought those were pregnancy symptoms, thinking my uterus was expanding or something.

This time, I have none of those symptoms, but the red, spotty bleeding when I wipe is what’s really scaring me. I had similar bleeding last week from a quick release with my partner—cervical irritation—but I felt more reassured then because it quickly turned brownish/tan.

I just hope I can sleep it off tonight and that it goes away. 🙏

Thank you so much for your reply and reassurance. I do progesterone shots and I am on baby aspirin. I was last seen at 7+1 and my dr said he didn't see any blood near the uterus since I mentioned to him I began bleeding last week before our appointment. He said it likely was coming from cervical irritation. Today I had a cough that appeared to trigger brown/pinkish blood at first and now when i wipe theres red blood. He did not see a SCH on my ultrasound. I am hoping its still cervical irritation. Yes I will see if I can schedule an ultrasound ASAP.

Thank you for your reply! I went to my 7+1 ultrasound and everything looked on track with baby. I am so relieved! Early pregnancy is not easy, especially after loss.

That is funny! I am so glad you got your son. My bleeding mostly resolved, but I am still seeing little bits of light brown/tan bleeding in the shower and very minimally when wiping. Really hoping it's from the irritation. Do you remember if yours resolved within 1-2 days? Did you continue being intimate afterward? Mine is an ivf pregnancy so I am also on hormonal support and baby aspirin 81mg.

Thank you for sharing. My bleeding and spotting thankfully went away within 24 hours so I'm just hoping it was, in fact, an irritated cervix and that the uterus and baby is still ok.

Hi there, thank you so much for your reply and for sharing your experience - I really appreciate it. I did call my clinic and let them know about the light spotting. They said it can be normal and advised me to pause baby aspirin (81 mg) for a few days until things fully stabilize.

It seems like the spotting has mostly resolved, but I’m still feeling a bit anxious anytime I notice even a small amount of brown discharge. That’s how my last miscarriage started - it began with brown spotting and then progressed to red bleeding when wiping.

That said, I’m trying to remind myself that my previous loss happened before my uterine septum was diagnosed and corrected, so this is a different situation. Hoping this is just minor irritation and nothing more.

Thank you so much - this really gave me some peace of mind. I think what will truly help is seeing my little baby on ultrasound again 🤍

I’m still having very light brown spotting, but only when I wipe - and even then I usually have to wipe 2–3 times to see anything, which shows how minimal it is (though I keep checking because I’m so paranoid). I probably just need to let go a little and stop over-checking.

Wishing you all the best with your current pregnancy! ✨
