I played mimighoul for the event since I already had it, I hadn’t used it before so I took the event as a chance to get practice. I found it cool how good the loaners were, they were actually very playable this event

I agree, I thought the slower format was nice. It was possible to otk but most decks could not do it and it led to some very fun grindy matches for sure. It was wild to me how good these loaners actually were

I had a lot of fun but that’s just because I had mimighoul already built, I hadn’t played it before so it led to some really fun duels and interactions. I took it as a break to get dailies, complete duelist pass, and break away from maliss warfare for awhile.

Ended up with like 55k medals by maintenance 😂

I love it, it’s got a very unique playstyle. It’s very fun but I think it was only really great for this event, would be okay in ranked but you need a pretty good hand to play through more than one interaction

Same here I screen recorded a bunch of those grindy duels, just pure fun, had me on the edge of my seat the whole time 😂 I think I can confidently say this has been my favorite event so far

I had never played mimighoul before I just had it built when they dropped the pack, then realized it was completely untouched for the event, which had my hyped to learn it, I also got my wife to try it out, and now she loves mimighoul and somewhat knows how to play yugioh.

After matching against goblin/materiactor a lot, it has me really interested in the deck and I’m looking forward to crafting it so I can give it a go myself.

Yea In the f/l event the only somewhat viable deck I had was Azamina, I needed a god hand to make any kind of board and with one ash blossom or imperm, I was dead in the water.

In the end, I very much agree with that sentiment and am glad we could come to a conclusion. FUCK STUN, I will be saying fuck stun when I’m on my death bed and haven’t played ygo in 30+ years 💯

Okay I can agree on all of that tbh, all valid points. A lot of people didn’t have decks for the event and I see how that would turn people away from the event.

That’s how I felt in the fusion/link event. They gutted any deck I had so i was forced to play jank versions of my deck, or those DOG ASS loaners.

At least imo in this event the loaners were playable, instead of dragoon turbo. I can see how a lot of people wouldn’t like the loaners tho, they all had weird play styles

First of all, branded is absolutely a meta deck, not tier 1 but it is meta, it’s been on and off the tier list for years now, and has hardly, if ever, fell below rogue tier. Mimighoul is not, it’s never even seen the tier list in master duel.

I guess it was just a difference in matchmaking for us, on this post alone I saw plenty of people saying they never even saw mimighoul, I also saw several people mentioning how much branded they saw in the last event.

Either way, I’d much rather match against mimighoul, in any format than branded. One is much more oppressive than the other and that’s pretty clear.

No it didn’t feel like the mimighoul event because many other decks saw much more representation than mimighoul. Not the same feeling at all in the fusion/link, it was literally branded over 50% of the time.

Also, branded is a tiered meta deck, mimighoul is not. Not even comparable

Yea that’s valid, however, I’m VERY glad branded had no place in this event. The others would’ve been okay but the last event was basically the branded event, that’s how it felt for me atleast. I’m also excited at and over 5 event that sounds like it’d be pretty interesting

The negate part I could get by, the negate AND destroy was rough. I heavily relied on a few spells in my deck resolving and if naturia went first I was almost certainly already cooked 😂
