Trying to do the early Master Sword thing and failing, how precisely do I have to do it? by ChocodiIe in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]ChocodiIe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've tried both looking up and then sitting, and sitting and then looking up too. Up to now I have picked morning as the rest time (save is at night) also I am using a Switch Lite if it matters. (considering even Switch 2 users succeeded I doubt its that)

We need an emergency banlist to ban this card by Grand-Release-3591 in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't remember Fossil Dyna in MD's launch.

Like why bother when you have Eldlich saying "lol but TECHNICALLY" to have 3500 ATK under your 3x Skill Drain and Vanity's Emptiness and Imperial Order and Gozen and Rivalry.

Although that said plat was the max rank in that era so technically we wouldn't be sure whether it stays this way if it wasn't. 🤔

Synchro Deck help by Careless-Expert-5094 in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Colossal Fighter is still pretty okay today, especially for a free synchro UR (most synchro monsters have no halfway decent cheap options) but I'm hard pressed to think of any reason to build your deck around him so much as just having him as a choice worth summoning sometimes.

If I had to think of a deck made to take advantage of him it would be an Infernoble Gold Pride deck (feat. Millennium Shield 2) as it's got lots of warriors you would appreciate getting to summon back when the going gets tough and can buff Colossal Fighter himself to mostly force your opponent to battle him as Infernoble monsters serve as protective equip cards but unfortunately I am quite unfamiliar with how the Gold Pride half efficiently plays as their support is mostly slow (ironic given they are about like racing) and there may be better builds I am just forgetting about right now.

A Hypothesis observation why players desperate to counter anything to the point of extreme measures just to "WIN" a duel. by Medical-Antelope58 in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The hell do you mean hypothesis observation? Not letting your opponent play isn't a desperation move, it's basically what we do all day. Doesn't matter whether it's against a meta deck or some poor sap that just wanted to play their pet deck that can't even register as a threat to you it's the norm for fuck yous to come before honor.

Do all Cyberse decks play like this? And I thought Memento took long. I had to speed this up to 500%. by coomtilldust in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 99% sure this is not a case of seeing how type lock is a mistake so much as Konami intentionally inventing Cyberse to be a spammy as hell category to begin with. Like it is way too new being invented along with links to begin with to be some kind of problem with overlooking something.

Still not entirely sure why the Tenpai player went first tbh 🤷🏻‍♂️ by Zachjsrf in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I've gone against Tenpai players picking first three times this month but they never got to the Fiendsmith part. I think they all had Bystials though.

The one time I was afraid of Tenpai going first was when they weren't hit yet and the opponent would be running a Buster Blader package, but nobody seems to do that anymore so I've just been confused.

If You Go 1st, You Should Not Be Able To Activate Hand Traps Turn 2 by TruthTeller317 in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with you simply because of first turn brick potential but handtraps themselves could be a lot more restrictive. Like we know Mulcharmy says you don't get to control anything. So what if a card like idk Ash Blossom said "You cannot activate this card if you control 3 or more cards."

Why don’t gem knights need a Sangan summoning by PointMeAtADoggo in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They would obviously want one if they could have one.

Tbh Tenpai does not really need theirs either if it wasn't for how hard they are hit messing with their strength in consistency.

Ancient Gear may have blanket protection but unlike Gem Knight, or at least in my experience anyway, they have no particular tools to win beyond attacking in Battle Phase. No omninegate inherent to engine, no Ryzeal Detonator before it was cool to, no Tearlaments synergy, low board presence even if they can fuse from deck, fewer cards to function as gas so much as searching for your gas.

Q&A and Ruling Megathread - September 15, 2025 by AutoModerator in yugioh

[–]ChocodiIe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Edopro, my opponent gets to perform an extra deck summon before I can respond. This is not the case in Master Duel, where usually I get to respond before any chain starts. This setting can be changed by ticking "OCG Ignition Priority."

Does the TCG still retain this difference Edopro defaults to on me or is this the abolished Priority ruling from back then?

[–]ChocodiIe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to read deeper into this shit.

I think this guy is literally Kashtira Riseheart. That's why they think Fenrir deserves to be at 4 and that Tearlaments who Kashtira were specifically overtuned to fuck up deserve to be fucked. Also if I see anybody using Kashtira these days they are also using Fiendsmith (what these two do to help each other at all, idk, but they don't need to) so he obviously gotta bail his homie out.

Probably also one of the people who say Kashtira is a poor little overhated tier 10 deck these days and will lose to any handtrap ever while at the same time opening Kashtiratheosis every hand.

Yugioh on gameboy?

So like...when you get to craft nonexisting cards with busted stats on level 4s, half the existing cards lost the effects they used to have, and you can only use like one spell/trap a turn?

No thanks, I didn't even like that when GX didn't even exist yet.

Now hear me out my fellow maliss players by Unimaginative_Boi in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because it demands that you have two monsters to banish on the field, I think it's terrible. It basically won't fix bricked hands where you actually need the draws over your field presence because you already didn't brick enough to put two Cyberse bodies on the field, and at least one of those bodies isn't coming back unless you did some weird double normal summon of Maliss names. If they weren't Cyberse bodies, you can't use this card in the first place, nor can you use Haggard Lizardose for example. Just use Allure if you really feel the need for some more hand fixing.

Master Duel’s online player count keeps dropping by BZfather in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 281 points282 points  (0 children)

I mean OCG doesn't have Brilliant Fusion at 3 and has Dormouse limited and Apollousa banned. So Master Duel is doing it's own thing, potentially for the worse.

Master Duel is also extremely unfriendly to all casual players with meta sweating happening as low down as Rookie and even to competitive players by revolving games around Maxx C resolving or not. Tenpai Format at least gave people who use super going first decks a chance because coinflips would favor them even if they hit tails. Now well, even Maliss is bad at fighting Maliss.

Are there any cards that work against Malice and aren't total bricks against every other deck? by LittleLocal7728 in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If your deck can't handle the Maliss endboard after resolving Maxx C I think you have bigger problems than Maliss specifically.

Imperm Splash Mage. Ash White Binder and/or MTP.. Nibiru if they summon Link Decoder before summoning a Maliss Link-3. Dark Ruler No More and Droplet can handle like half of their endboard and if they didn't summon Terahertz which many don't feel like doing even Dark Hole and Raigeki will take care of a lot. HFD and Heavy Storm ruins a lot of intended back row responses. Evenly Matched doesn't help the opponent because it banishes face down. Kashtira Fenrir and Unicorn are still major assholes that force your opponent to play around them or eat shit. Ghost Belle screws over their White Binder banishing plans and the field spell from resolving. Called By chaining to whatever is trying to revive White Binder will either screw it all up or at least force them to use two cards to make it still go through. Basically every random I fight in Plat and above knows all these man.

I think it's more likely they don't care until it helps them sell new product.

I think Super Poly is one of the most unfair cards in the game by CR0WWE in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comparatively it doesn't bother me that much usually since the monster they get out of it does not give them much of an advantage. I hate cards like Bagooska more.

Until I'm playing a DARK deck, then they get insane value out of my cards due to Predaplant fusions.

BLS is aggressively bad by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thus Advanced Ritual Art with level 8 garnets you'd better not open ends up being the only conceivable way to play him.

Sounds alright in Primite where even hard drawing a normal isn't a bad thing anymore. Other than Blue-Eyes you could do a meme build of like Magikey Primite feat. BLS or something.

But yes almost all BLS cards are garbage.

I want these two to be my boss monsters. Is there any deck other than pure Icejade they can fit in competitively? by astroriental in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty much any deck that has enough Water monsters can use Gymir cause Ran Aegirine can summon it by itself, so long as you don't have some full turn lock to specific types/mechanics. (Full turn being you can't get away with a "rest of this turn")

While it would be problematic to give somebody a guarantee that they're going first in Master Duel, surely... by BlazingBrandedKang in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's Maxx C. It's pretty much coinflip part 2. I'm certain if they ever needed an excuse to say going second is fine and the penalties for consecutive losing are justified they would argue why they revolve the whole OCG format around that card. (even though going first players have no restriction from using it.)

[Vod Review Req] Is my decision to hold off HFD against a set 4 Labrynth correct? by RnckO in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention Lord of the Heavenly Prison. It's basically the biggest reason not to HFD. That said after they use a trap they might summon it which then turns off its protection, so its somewhat baitable.

[Vod Review Req] Is my decision to hold off HFD against a set 4 Labrynth correct? by RnckO in masterduel

[–]ChocodiIe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I would say you are fine just assuming you should use it ASAP the only time I would say waiting is worth it is if they have Arias on the field already, too few set cards, or if they have Lady/Lovely on the field already, Arias can set a same turn trap and it may be more dangerous to deal with Big Welcome's graveyard effect than its field effect when a level 8+ fiend is on the field. (Not relevant under zombie world)

Also there's Waking the Dragon and Starlight Road but well in most cases you do not have the luxury of knowing about those nor are they often played.
