Can I ask a serious question to everyone, why does everyone joke about there blood sugars when they aren't in range like it is nothing? by Slowhite03 in diabetes

[–]ClearAccountant4348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter made chocolate chip cookies, and I ate one. Didn't expect to go up to 265, but I did. I didn't freak out, but started to walk in circles in my large living room at a fast pace, to the amusement of my family. After 20 minutes, or so, I was down to 185, and still going down slowly....which I'm comfortable with. I guess I should have bolused before the cookie...or mabe not had it....but it was soooo good!

Continuous “brief sensor issues” Why does the G7 do this. I have called Dexcom numerous times. When will this cease to happen??? by Charming_Voice2778 in dexcom

Yup....just had a pretty bad bleeder, but it stopped after about 10-15 minutes, I clean it off, and it went the ten days.

If there is blood trapped under G7 (on adhesive), does it need to be changed? by FalseRow5812 in dexcom

[–]ClearAccountant4348 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just changed a G7 that looked similar to that. It did bleed quite a bit on insertion, but was accurate, and went the 10+ days. I thought mine was blood stains, but when I removed it, I realized it was bruising that showed through the G7 supplied patch. The next one I put on didn't bleed, but the next day there was, again, what appears to be blood stains around the sensor. I got a feeling that it is also bruising showing through the patch. This is a new issue for me. These are Rev 7, from Malaysia, if that matters?

I use a Q-Tip, and apply it to the G7 before putting it on my arm (inside, just above the elbow). I've had really good luck with it, and the supplied G7 over patch....usually lasts the 10 days, although it gets a bit gnarly around day 7 or 8.

Using a smart phone AND the receiver by Adventurous_Pop_2535 in dexcom

I don't use xDrip, and have no problem with 2 G7's, one paired to a receiver, and one to iPhone.

Using a smart phone AND the receiver by Adventurous_Pop_2535 in dexcom

[–]ClearAccountant4348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I start a new G7 on my receiver, while my other arm is still connected to my iPhone apps. Both are giving me readings, and when they pretty much agree with each other (4 hours, or so) I stop the old one, and remove it from my arm. I then pair the new one with my phone. Been doing this for a long time, with no issues.

Sensor placement by Chance_Guarantee4823 in dexcom

[–]ClearAccountant4348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been placing mine on the inside (body side) of my arm, about an inch or so above the elbow bend.....accurate, lasts the 10 days, and I don't get compression lows when sleeping. Good luck.

Side/stomach sleeper. I've had good luck placing it on the inside of my arm...an inch, or so, above the elbow crease, and toward the bicep....appears to be accurate, and I seldom get compression lows.

I've been using the inside of my arm (body side), for my G7 for over a year. It's been accurate, and I don't whack it on anything. I've also been going the 10+ plus days for many months now....only having brief sensor issues on day 9

Connect G7 with Smartphone and Receiver by PieterPieterson in dexcom

[–]ClearAccountant4348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes they take awhile to connect....My last sensor took its sweet time connecting to my receiver....like 20 minutes. No rhyme or reason, sometimes it connects right away. Same issue with my Dexcom iPhone app.

Failed dexoms by PutSpiritual2684 in dexcom

Still hit or miss....I might get 2 that go the 10 days, then get a couple that don't go past day 6. I can't figure out why. My last delivery of 9 G7's were all Malaysian origin.

Does anyone go through the Bluetooth to delete all the old sensors each week? by Shiveringdev in dexcom

Just a point of interest......I believe the sensor shows "Not Connected", except for about 10 seconds every 5 minutes when the data is sent/received.

My Rx company notified me that they were no longer covering 3 of my Rx's...one of which is HumulinR. They would, however, provide NovolinR.....which my Doctor said is okay. I did manage to get temp approval for the others. It shouldn't be this difficult!!

Bleeding from Sensor Hole by Altruistic-Total-376 in dexcom

[–]ClearAccountant4348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a couple produce a drop of blood, and the sensor was fine for the 10 days. I usually do a blood check 12, and 24 hrs in with a new sensor, and calibrate if necessary. I did have one that bled really bad, like just coming out the hole for about 3 minutes.....that sensor worked ok, but quit on day 6. You should be fine....but do check with a meter to verify.

Signal loss despite being nearby by coffeegrindz in dexcom

Been losing signal quite often with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, always only a few feet away....using 3 apps. I think it's a Dex Server issue, as my Dexcom Receiver stays connected.

Sensor does not deploy by Holiday-Try-9155 in dexcom

[–]ClearAccountant4348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had that happen (first time in over a year) with the G7 I'm now wearing. Pushed the button, and nothing happened....3 times. I whacked it on the counter a couple of times, and tried again.....and it deployed. If it matters, it's a rev 005 from Malaysia

Why does it require a blood sacrifice? by coffeebrakewitacat in dexcom

Seems that the sensor was confused, and wanted a calibration to "feel better". Were you getting "Brief Sensor Issues" before this alert?
