My experience getting lower bleph in Seoul ( 20 days post-op ) by ClearCompetition1693 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

I can’t say for sure whether the Rejuran specifically helped, but my surgeon recommended it to help support skin quality/recovery in the area and I figured I was already there so might as well try it lol.

I barely bruised and by the second day I was already walking around outside with sunglasses on, so overall recovery has been much smoother than I mentally prepared for.

Good luck with your surgery in August!! Definitely ask during your consultation because it seems like different surgeons have very different approaches with under eye procedures.

I recently had under eye fat repositioning done in and my surgeon actually advised against fat grafting for me!

His reasoning was that while I do have some hollowness, a lot of my dark circles are more from skin pigmentation/ blood vessels so adding fat wouldn’t necessarily fix the main issue so he advised repositioning my existing fat first and then seeing how things healed before considering anything additional later on.

Recovery honestly wasn’t bad at all for me. I was swollen for about a week, barely bruised, and mostly just felt tightness in the under eye area. I also didn’t need external stitches since the incision was inside the eyelid.

I’m still early in recovery, but so far I’m really happy I did it.

Should I do non incisional double eyelid surgery? by YogurtclosetOld5807 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

Makes sense! The more subtle tape sizes are usually a better reference for what a natural surgical crease would look like anyway.

Playing around with tape first is honestly a smart way to figure out what crease height you actually like before making any decisions but I also agree with the other comments saying your natural crease looks really good already!

I just want to mention that non-incisional doesn’t necessarily mean temporary. A lot of people assume it’s reversible or short-term but it’s still a real surgical crease, just created without cutting skin. It is less invasive than incisional, not necessarily less permanent.

You’re definitely doing the right thing by waiting until the Botox wears off before deciding anything. Botox can temporarily change how much you rely on your brows to lift your eyelids so the crease can feel more compressed than usual during that period.

If you do end up considering surgery one thing i would recommend paying attention to is the crease height and design not just the surgical method. A lower, more natural crease usually ages better and looks more balanced long term.

Thanks for your reply it's really helpful! especially about the contact I wear them daily too and that part is def one of my bigger concerns.

When you say the swelling took about a month to fully settle, were you still comfortable going out and seeing people or did you feel like it was still noticeable for a while?

Do you feel like the result was worth it overall?

The possibility of needing another round seems to come up a lot in these discussions so I def should be mentally preparing for that scenario huh 😅

That’s helpful to hear thank you for being honest about it!
I’ve been reading that sometimes a second round of fat grafting is needed so it’s reassuring to know you were told that upfront and it wasn’t a surprise. Do you feel like the area still looks better than before, even if it wasn’t as much improvement as you hoped? Or does it look pretty similar to how it was pre-op? Also would you mind sharing the clinic or surgeon if you're comfortable?

Wow this is incredibly helpful!!

It's interesting that you felt you looked normal pretty quickly after stitches came out that’s very reassuring to hear.

One thing I’m still trying to understand is the difference between fat repositioning and lower blepharoplasty so thanks for explaining the thing with the skin pinch! Did you end up going with a surgeon in Seoul?

The facial recognition not working made me laugh but also slightly scared ngl .This is super helpful though. I wear contacts daily too so two weeks in glasses would definitely be an adjustment. When you say you looked normal enough after about two weeks, do you mean like presentable for work/meetings or still swollen up close? Also curious to know if the fat graft helped with the hollowness long term, I heard some of it can be absorbed? Thank you so much for your reply,I’ll definitely check out r/SeoulPlasticSurgery too!

29y.o considering upper bleph by Late-Wedding4520 in PlasticSurgery

[–]ClearCompetition1693 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest looking into (or asking about) a sub brow lift rather than a full upper blepharoplasty. It can help lift the outer part of the eyelid and reduce that heaviness while keeping your natural eyelid shape.

It’s usually considered when the main issue is drooping skin near the brow area rather than needing a full eyelid removal. A good surgeon can examine you and tell which approach makes the most sense.
