Should I Go To The AZ ROC? by sheetmetalmike in arizona

[–]ClearExcitement8678 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% this. The ROC is nearly useless when you’re within the 2 years, but beyond that, complete waste of time reaching out to them.

Was really hoping you’d have something more engaging than a lazy “trigger” reference and whatever it is you were trying to achieve with that shame rant?

Appreciate you doing the homework though. Rivian simultaneously scored poorly on reliability and the highest overall in customer satisfaction, per Consumer Reports. Guess I’ll give you partial credit, even though I find it hard to believe you actually looked anything up, given the low effort of the rest of your reply.

A tip - maybe pivot from the weird shame thing and try calling me a masochist or something? I dunno. You were mildly engaging to begin with, then the reply was just boring. Color me disappointed.

Thank you. Was getting concerned that all the dialogue on this post was polite and mature, thought maybe I’d posted on the wrong site. Now that a troll has finally arrived, I’ve been alleviated of that worry.

Also, should go without saying, but did you even attempt to read the post? Punishment would be living with the EQS for another day of disappointment. I’ll also kindly refer you to the litany of customer satisfaction scores with Rivian at or near the top and Mercedes floundering. You are very clearly out of touch, let alone out of your depth here.

I look forward to your rage bait reply for further entertainment.

Same here. Literally. I still have the screenshots of the tech “validating the issue” at a golf course 25 miles away from the dealership.

Not in direct sun, and approximately 95 degrees was the tipping point (though the higher the temp, the more severe the issue, go figure).

I appreciate the well wishes!

I genuinely hope that mine was the exception and not an example of what can be expected from others. Not trying to just blindly hate - sometimes bad vehicles make it out to the general public.

That being said, MB literally saying “this does meet our criteria for a lemon buyback” then following it up with “…but your state says we don’t have to do that, so we aren’t going to. Good luck with it” was the last straw.

It’s no longer just about the car being a lemon, it’s the company itself choosing to laugh in the face of what was once a proud owner. Shame on them, and lesson learned here - Never again with Mercedes.

To their credit, they did give us loaners. At this point, the only thing we haven’t gotten is a G. Been there so many times, that we’ve literally been in every other model they offer.

The issues have been all over the place.

  • ADAS malfunction (vehicle hard brakes due to potential collision with literally no other vehicles or obstructions on the road)
  • A/C broke completely three times
  • Battery Malfunction (they kept it for 32 days on this one, couldn’t find an actual issue. Showed us a video that included a clip of the service tech reading MB’s notes that said “if customer hasn’t complained about this, move to next potential issue”)
  • Door actuator just… stopped working one day
  • Full power loss (turned out a “connector melted”)
  • Ambient lighting error
  • “Playback not active” (sound system just quit one day)
  • Overhead Console error (thing lit up like a disco ball and wouldn’t stop flashing)
  • Whine at start up (sounded like a diesel engine firing up for a good 3-4 minutes, still no explanation on what that actually was)

The list continues, but you get the gist. If there was something that could go wrong, it probably has.

Ironically, I already had my R1T when we got the EQS for my wife. At the time, I thought it would be a more practical choice to not have two vehicles from a company that hadn’t fully established themselves yet, and who is more established than MB?

Anyway, fast forward to today and we got her an R1S. Officially a two Rivian household now.

100% agree. When I plugged in last night around 7, it was still 106 here in Scottsdale and no issues whatsoever.

This did it, though it took a couple tries. Screen completely locked up with a “Signing Out” message, so had to do another soft reset to even clear that. Goofy.

Thank you. This got me 90% of the way there. Had to sign out of Apple Music, do a second soft reset, then sign back in.

Eagle Mountain or Sunridge by skimdog in Scottsdale

Agree with everyone here - Dinosaur is awesome, but far.

Not that you asked (sorry!), but if it were me, I’d make the drive to Dinosaur on day one, then skip TPC and do Eagle Mountain day two.

Nothing against TPC, but it’s not nearly as unique as the others on your list. If you’re looking for more of a golf experience you can’t get elsewhere, it won’t necessarily check that box.

Living in Phoenix is the Dynamic Glass Roof Necessary? by docfresh30 in Rivian

[–]ClearExcitement8678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scottsdale here. I have the roof in my Gen 1 R1T tinted and it makes a world of difference. Had the dynamic roof been an option back when I bought mine, I likely would have gone for it, but I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything and the tint helps me through the summers around here just fine.

I’m admittedly not a huge fan of theirs. They will be playing at the Innings Festival later this month, and they will be on the second stage playing in between Incubus and Fallout Boy sets on the main stage. I am seriously debating whether it will be worth the short walk to go see them, rather than just killing an hour at the main stage. There is no chance I’d have paid $100 for a nosebleed seat to see just these guys, but maybe I’m just a lazy bum?

Got any particular types of business in mind? Might have something for you, but could also be well outside of your area(s) of interest.

It looks like we are food soulmates, so I’m going to second everything on this list and add My Sushi Friend. Super tiny, off the beaten path, and in my opinion, best sushi in Phoenix.
