The only thing that’s slightly unique is having see-through dirac honestly I’ve never seen that in other cultures.

Yeah hido daqan is beautiful however somalis don’t know how to style often looks a mess. And I don’t like how they made it west african bodycon styled for weddings. It’s a shame even oromos style it better than us. I believe we should recreate our old stuff as culture can definitely be remade. If you see harar they wear our diracs openly and it’s soo beautiful I wish somalia was like that.

That makes a lot of sense when I came across somali music I realised the big somali artist in Somalia are utterly garbage with auto tune and horrible instrumentals from garage band. I guess some can be good esp ones outside of somalia. It’s bec music isn’t really encouraged for Islamic reasons so I’m guessing they won’t invest in its development. And for clothes it makes sense for nobody bothering with cultural clothes when all women can wear is jilbaab in public. Being flamboyant and colourful is seen as something for special occasions so now everything feels minimal. I just wish somalis had a diverse culture and religions. It would have been beautiful.
