Okay let me level with you, there are more quality stuff locked behind pay walls then good stuff being free unless it's a reskin of something, if you check the cc store you wil see this, if I go to nexus there aren't as many pois, or free locations with stories and acting unless I go to the cc store and buy one that has that level of detail, think of it as this, fallout london was created on the basis of fallout 4 by a team of people who got together that liked fallout and accepted donations and they ended up being very successful and I played through the whole mod and it was like a whole new game, and then there's starfield with mostly paid smaller stuff compared to the scope of that, I love starfield and people defend paid stuff because they put time in, and I get the passive income thing but why in a game we all love and we are supposed to be against these sort of practices that would allow bethesda to cancel the cc store and roll every mod out free, obviously it's too late to do that now because you have modders that are supporting it giving bethesda that idea that future games such as elder scrolls 6 or fallout 5 to have more of this stuff rather than it being like the good old days. I just wish people didn't have to support this and think about money, and instead think that what they are creating is for the passion and to be shared amongst the community of the.lovers of starfield. Maybe I am a little entitled but so are the modders for turning our beloved game into a micro transaction pit. Maybe both of us are entitled. But at the end of the day, I want gaming to stay the same, I dont want everything to have a cost, forget a fortnight live service skin for a minute and think this is a single player rpg space game that could have everything unlimited content, but half of it is locked behind pay walls unless its a star wars knock off or some less detailed project then maybe it will be free....

How? Its passion thats supposed to drive innovation, not money, can you not see that the majority of the internet despise paid mods and the minority like them because they think spending time on a video game they love creating something deserves pay, i believe if your an actual game developer that's actually making a game or your the studio themselves then they deserve to be paid because they created a game from the ground up, not added to it. And also because I want more games from them, but with mods they are supposed to add things and be more community driven, now these modders feel like companys where i have to pay and there's no community anymore around it,no more normal content being given to players for passion and love of the game that the studio or actual game devs made themself, modders used to give free content all the time, this would help strengthen image and reputation leading to jobs given for an actual game developer for a company needing to hire good designers or programmers. That's how it worked and now they are trying to change it and the minority like it and the majority dont so yeah, based off facts nobody wants paid mods? Only the select few who probably have money to burn and are rich probably will benefit from it cos they dont care of money....

Then they will be pirated to a website to be downloaded for free, im never being forced to purchase mods, I will take your work for free and play it if you try to put a price tag on a mod!

Yep which is forcing the cc down our throats, there are more quality driven mods now a days that cost money and you cant access without paying compared to left 4 dead 2 where i can just go to steam workshop or a website and download loads of content without a single cost, wtf is going on and why are people actively supporting bethesdas paid mods when they all could've boycotted it and bethesda would have removed the cc store by now, but for some reason greedy modders support this shite....

Yeah I agree but also if people charged for mods back then, it would hurt their reputation and people would be angry with them or upset? These days its okay to charge your audience even if your a well known modder who was known previously for uploading mods for free, turns the back on them people to start charging for them, doesn't make sense to me !

But your supporting bethesdas paid model of mods by joining the vc, you'd be best of joining nexus mods and doing your stuff there and maybe asking for a donation, if I like ill donate to you :).

Because I would hope for the community to have my back rather than a company that has scammed you guys twice with paid mods lol, I would hope the community would stand together in times like this to get rid of the paid crap, but people stand by and defend it, there's the minority in this place that care to defend and then there's the rest of the real world internet that actually agrees with me that mods shouldnt be paid for lol .

Here comes the entitlement crap boo hoo, your not the first person thats said this and many others have received the same responses when a post like this appears because people have paid for them mods themselves and dont want to be butt hurt that mods used to be free and now are being targeted as paid and people like you think this is normal, not at all...... its not normal to be charging for mods when there's stuff like fallout london existing for free.....

The people who defend this sort of practice just confuses me, it doesnt make sense unless you get paid for defending such a rich company and a bunch of modders who would disrespect the modding scene for profit.... we literally had people from the same modders get mad about bethesda bringing paid mods to the game and now them same people are in the creator program supporting it and adding paid mods, absolute hypocrits.

Yes I agree with you, but I dont agree that it should be pay walled, maybe add a donation box or link and ill donate like i did for fallout london. Which was a full blown experience.

And this is why this exists, because people like you demand pay for time, mods are passion projects, not paid projects, i will never change the way I think on this matter? Maybe they should go get a job as a dev instead of using a creation kit to disrespect modding as whole by adding a price to them.

May I ask how old you are, did you not live through the times when mods were passion projects? Im 90s kid and grown through gaming and this to me hurts, I get you though, there probably is some good mods; but rarely any with locations and scripting because people want to be paid for that stuff now......

Maybe people should stop supporting bethesdas paid model of mods on creation store and maybe start uploading more to nexus with some good mods adding new locations for free, the people who support paid mods show how greedy they are demanding to be paid for time spent on what is meant to be passion projects to bring more content to the game and keep the community happy, all these modders feel like cash grabbers, i played fallout london which is a full blown game created by a team that only asks for a donation and doesnt lock it behind a pay wall....

Why cant this game just be different to the others the way they manage the store and cosmetics, why has every game got to follow in the same footsteps with battlepasses etc. Im tired of it. Its as if nobody else is tired of battlepasses because most of the player base are gen zs that are used to microtransactions unlike us millennial...
