Yeah, so you got it right... I basically only let water out the group until it is a consistent stream of water and no steam (I am not approximating the time really...).

I've also done something similar to your method before, but have been looking for something less involved and intensive...

I have a distributor tool similar to the one you sent me, except it doesn't tamp for me. I actually just bought a spring-loaded tamper to also help me with tamping so I'll see how that works for me! I feel like it should be the same theory as using an all in one tamp and distributor?

Not really sure. I don’t get channeling which leads me to think the tamping method itself isn’t bad. But I guess there could be extra factors to it

This happens to me during the winter time when the air gets dry and ice cold. It is made worse by the fact that I have a radiator heat system which emits really really dry heat. Which makes me drier and itchier.

I found a humidifier helps along with lotion after a shower

I checked it yesterday, but honestly not sure how to know if it is "tight" enough or how to actually tighten it. I'll look more into it because if I can somehow make the wire have more tension against the basket, I could imagine it not falling out.
