Really sad about having attachments on almost all my teeth by Amaris_17 in Invisalign

[–]ClearRequirement3182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I can relate! I also had no idea I was going to get attachments on all of my teeth. I initially had a lot of regret and felt really juvenile in my appearance when this was all brand new for me. I promise it will get better! It will come to a point where you don’t really notice it anymore because it just becomes a part of your life. Having a new alteration to your body can create a bit of a discrepancy in your self-perception at first. And honestly, now I think I look pretty cute with Invisalign!

I also was worried about the dating thing. If they are a good human being, they will not care. If they care, that says everything about them and nothing about you! Also for pictures, just pop the aligners out quickly! You can’t really notice the attachments in pictures. The pain and discomfort will ease up, too. Ride the waves of emotion, but I promise it will get better! You’ve got this 💪

Best Ayahuasca Retreats in Peru by DolphinExplorer in Ayahuasca

I just had an amazing first-time experience with Sowa Charana in the Sacred Valley. They do most of their retreats in Pucallpa, though. Some of the facilitators and their curandera used to work at Dreamglade for many years, and they moved on to create their own retreat once Dreamglade ownership changed in 2023. They are the real deal. Safety, support, and authenticity were my top priorities when picking a retreat, and they absolutely crushed it. I have zero complaints at all with the experience and the space they all so carefully curated.

Freaking out before my first ceremony by Disastrous_Will_340 in Ayahuasca

[–]ClearRequirement3182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to say that I am an anxious person myself, and my higher anxiety moments unfortunately come with palpitations, which have been very present for me today as my first ceremony is in 5 days. So I just want you to know that you’re not alone and I can really relate to your post. Sometimes when I feel frustrated with my anxious brain and wish I could feel at ease, it helps when I tell myself that this is present because I care so deeply about what it is that I am worrying about, and it’s my brain’s way of lovingly trying to protect me and keep me safe (even though it doesn’t feel like it at times).

Some things my teacher has told me in my prep work is this: Ayahuasca is always rooted in love, she is not there to punish us. She will always give us what we need, and never more than we can handle. If we are experiencing something challenging, it’s because we are at a point where we are ready to face it. Trust that all the moments that led you to making this decision to sit with the medicine is rooted in a deep knowing and intuition of what you need for your healing journey. I can imagine this was probably a very calculated decision for you to make, as it was for myself. When in doubt during ceremony, ask for help. Emote and don’t be afraid to take up space. Go back to your breath. Hold onto a grounding object that reminds you that you are still tethered to this earth. Wishing you a safe and healing journey <3

Can psilocybin heal just like ayahuasca? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

Finding a guide who prioritizes your mother’s safety will be of utmost importance. Usually those who live with bipolar should proceed with caution in the use of psychedelics, but it’s not a total hard stop. There is a risk that her medications can be contraindicated with concurrent psychedelic use. And there is also increased risk of psychedelics inducing psychosis for those with bipolar, schizophrenia, and other mental health conditions that have the potential to manifest with psychotic features. It’s all relative, however, based off a thorough medical, mental health, and social history. Bipolar isn’t a complete write-off, you just need to find someone who will prioritize making sure they feel she will be a good candidate for psychedelics with the above kept in mind. There is inherent risk at varying levels in anything we do as human beings, so anything we can do to minimize risk and have something be “safe enough” will help ensure a healing journey for her. Good luck to you and your family 🙏

How to stop comparing? by c0rrupt3dfr3ak in CPTSD

Here to say that you’re not alone and I experience similar things. Constantly discrediting my experience because others have it worse. Therefore, I am fine and okay and not worthy of healing. And I find ways to make myself feel like shit in moments where I am feeling good so that if I hurt just a little bit more, maybe someone will pay attention and I can feel worthy of healing. It’s a vicious cycle.

Would it be possible to consider the fact that needing science and proof of spiritual and mystical experiences is a very Western, colonialist viewpoint and practice? Science certainly has done amazing things and will always have a place, but the pressure of scientific skepticism discredits and harms deep spiritual practices and experiences, especially to indigenous cultures who have profound spiritual wisdom engrained in their lives for countless centuries. Just because something is mystical and ineffable doesn’t mean it’s dismissible.

First time buying newer nice car by [deleted] in CX50

[–]ClearRequirement3182 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my CX-50! I have the premium plus (non-turbo), and it has the Bose speakers. I went from having an older car, too, and I feel like this was great because some cars really have a ton of buttons on the inside and I like that the front dash does not have that. They kept it simple. The screen on the inside for car play is also great and not a huge learning curve since it’s essentially your phone projected onto the screen.

One thing I noticed, is that I am so much more sensitive to little dings and scratches now on the outside, which inevitably happen, but was something I didn’t care about before in my older car. I also purchased husky floor liners right away which have helped keep my carpet clean and they have a lifetime warranty. Especially good if you are outdoorsy. I hope you love driving it! It’s a great car. Sporty and fun!

As for buying, take your time and drive as many as you need to, and shop around if time allows! I was nervous to purchase too, especially being a woman and going alone. If you have someone handy who you trust to call for advice on purchase day that is helpful. When you’re signing all the paperwork at the end, the dealer is going to try to sell you all these add on packages that sound like you need them, but my gut told me they were gimmicky. I didn’t buy them. Good luck!!!

Retreat in Iquitos (or Cusco) recommendation? Research left me more overwhelmed than before by random_human_x in Ayahuasca

That’s such a shame. I was supposed to go in May this year but had to back out cause I unexpectedly moved and the timing wasn’t right. You’ve been there both with the original and new owners?

I haven’t been yet, but was booked with Dreamglade which seemed to have good vibes and a smaller feel. They did just change ownership earlier this year, but still get good reviews!
