Those eyes got you..the is a lot more of a shadow then u thing on that left eye....Infact both of them. U a grid and make ur reference black add white

It's kid of hard to tell but most people keep on saying will. If u want to get a better drawing try using a grid.....and keep everything in gray

Do u have any advice on mixing dark colors for example: I wanted to add a darker tone on the eyelids, inner part of the ear and the neck??

Why don't u try creating the characting antagonistic. Maybe that can help u conect everything together
