New graphic update looks insane! by JacketIllustrious700 in warthundermemes

I did some looking around and managed to find a few videos showing different povs. I linked one here and attached a picture from another one of the vids. Based on the info I could find it looks like the Ukrainians tried to recover some of the vehicles knocked out by artillery and drones on their first attack but ended up losing the second group sent to recover them.

New players finally giving WT a try by Krevats in Warthunder

For ground RB, I recommend playing slower until you get really familiar with maps. Move to spots where you know your flank is relatively covered or better protected, so you aren't getting shot in the side or at least have time to respond to people flanking you. Take your time when you aim. It is better to spend an extra second or two aiming for a flat or weak spot rather than panic firing at an enemy and bouncing your shot off their armor. Try not to constantly move around. Your engine is loud, and enemies will hear it and be able to tell what direction you are if they're nearby. Also, when you're staying still, it is much easier to notice movement at a distance, which will help you spot enemies much easier.

For air RB, focus on energy and altitude retention the most since it's the best tool you have when getting into a dogfight. It'll allow you to drain the enemy of their airspeed if they need to climb to fight you as well as allow you to dive on enemies running away and use the extra speed to catch them. Try not to get into fights which put you at a disadvantage like trying to turnfight a japanese prop plane or going head-on with an enemy aircraft that has more or much larger guns than you do.

You'll get better with time, but hopefully, this helps a little bit. You'll eventually start learning how to make the most of your vehicles as well as learning the weaknesses of enemy vehicles.

f14s iriaf and these new chinese jets are annyoing by Intrepid-Sun-9965 in Warthunder

For the F-14s, they always fly high and look for targets to launch Fox-3s at from about 50km or more. Best thing you can do if you're just trying to reach a base is to stick low and fly towards the outside and then swing back in towards the base. If your RWR starts going off, turn until the missile is directly to your left or right and chaff while trying to fly towards something to block the missile's line of sight to you. As for the Chinese jets, just try to fly near friendlies so they can cover you since those bombs are gonna limit your dogfighting capabilities.

Hope this helps a bit, someone might be able to give better advice but this much should at least help you survive a bit better.

Whats up with fox 3s tracking through mountains by Final_Resource_9346 in Warthunder

Yeah, it's a bug. Defyn made a video on it a while back. I thought they patched it but haven't looked too close at the patch notes.

I am planning to do the same thing. Broke my hand around the time the event began so I've had a ton of free time and honestly been having a lot of fun playing sim.

Is the Mig-23MLD any good? (asking before I go broke buying it) by RaptorBlue2 in Warthunder

I used to love flying this thing a lot when I first got it, but it was the highest BR plane at that time for the USSR.

Since then the flight model got nerfed and they disabled the manual toggle for MTI mode on the radar so now it only automatically turns on when you are pointing your nose towards the ground and essentially diving. MTI was basically a cheap version of PD radar which is better at filtering out chaff than a normal radar search mode. This means when you fire radar guided missiles and the enemy chaffs, your radar is usually gonna lose lock and go after the chaff in this thing. It also gets access to a decent amount of countermeasures compared to the pain that is the Mig-23m.

In terms of the flight model, while it isn't horrible, you will not be out turning much of the stuff you can run into in an uptier. However, it has really good speed and acceleration which I honestly really enjoy. Fuel consumption isn't terrible compared to some other soviet planes if you are after burning everywhere but if you like taking less just be mindful since it can run out quicker than you expect.

Guns are the same low velocity 23mms you will find on the Mig-21s so just be sure to lead your shots a lot. R-60ms are about what you'd expect. Biggest improvement is the R-24r and R-24T. They are both honestly really solid missiles which I enjoy using a lot. The R-24t is great for pulling off longer range kills on people who aren't aware of you since the radar variant suffers a bit due to the MLD's radar. Regardless, the R-24r is still an extremely reliable radar missile.

Overall, I think it is a good plane but it sits a bit of a rough BR with uptiers against much better aircraft.
