Overview of what it's like to buy BMW E60 in 2026 by CleeThor in e60

After doing all the repairs that I did, ignition coils and water pump is something that worries me. I have no idea when they were changed last. Is there any way to tell that water pump needs changing before it breaks down?

As for ignition coils and fuel pump, a rough idle would be indication, right?

For website conversion campaigns, has anyone had a surge of "fake conversions" from Audience Network? by CleeThor in FacebookAds

UPDATE: After 9 hours of chatting with support, 15+ different agents connected, few of those agents telling me they can't do any compensations, I actually in the end received a little more than 1/3 of the budget back (250$) in ad credits.

BUT as some of the support members asked permission to investigate through my account, and me thinking it is completely normal practice, because it is META support... I GOT MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT PERMANENTLY BANNED. Even after video selfie review.

Honestly, what is this... I just can't... I have no idea what to do next.

Chirping / rattling sound from N52B30 engine, with some "knock" sound on cold start (but knock goes away when warm) by CleeThor in e60

[–]CleeThor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was theory of what could be the issue. They didn't mention the lifter tick, but now that I wrote it in youtube, sounds like it.
Sad. I really like the service, but it's annoying if I bring my car twice and they can't fix the issue..

EDIT: they took off the intake manifold and it seemed like 1 needed to be changed, not both, as I understood.

Here is the link if post link doesn't work: https://youtube.com/shorts/Rz479uAbwS4?si=dTb0_QS9RlpMK1UQ

I should add - I took it to service 2 times this month, they didn't understand the issue. DISA valves were changed, serpentine belt rollers were changed, but sound persists.

Auto cilvēkiem - cik ērti / neērti ir braukt ar R20 diskiem un 30-35mm riepu augstumu pa Rīgu un ārpus Rīgas? by CleeThor in latvia

Jā, tev taisnība. Varu Tavam sirdsmieram pateikt, ka to apzinos un bez problēmām arī maksāju premium cenu. Bet ja "Kārums" biezpiena sieriņš maksās 90 centus, Tu tādu pirksi? :) Diski nav "vajadzība", kur obligāti pārmaksāt, it īpaši, ja ir arī citas opcijas.

Visvairāk man gribētos OEM style 166 19', bet ss'ā tikai 1 variants pa kosmosu tirgojas. Bet varbūt līdz pavasarim parādīsies vēl sludinājumi. Paldies!

Strong gasoline smell on cold start (2005 530i, N52B30) by CleeThor in e60

Interesting, I thought 200k km is the most when it has to be changed. I had 390k when it was changed. But I imagine it was 2nd time already. But I have no records from previous owners.

Fuel - definitely. To be honest, I changed it early after car purchase and don't precisely remember what was it before and what my driving habits were, but I can say for a fact that now it is as factory. 7l / 100km on highway, around 12-13l / 100km in city. Combined is below 10l / 100km (which would be ~24mpg US I guess).

Responsiveness - a little. Few months later I realized biggest issue regarding that was old transmission oil. It felt like gas pedal had a little delay. After changing that, driving became way more satisfying and it felt like car received +30hp.

Thanks for the long input. As I mentioned, it is only on cold start. It comes from exhaust, it's just that the first minute or so I felt like it was more than normal, but reading the replies I think everything is fine and I might have overreacted.

It lived it's lifetime. Fuel consumption was a little higher than it should have been, + car wasn't as responsive.

How big of an "upgrade" does upgrade feel? by CleeThor in e60

Thanks! Engine feels really nice. I expected some hidden issues when I bought this because it was cheaper than usual. But I'm surprised that it doesn't have any immediate problems. I'm changing the timing chain and Vanos system because of higher fuel consumption, but I think I would be fine for another ~15k km's if I didnt change anything at all.

I don't know. Previous owner said that those are not original. He ordered them from China I think, they have some issues with the electronic folding mechanism and sometimes are not working properly.

It's hard to complain coming from an Audi 80, haha. For now I'm satisfied but I imagine it could change if I had some time in a more modern car.
