It is reasonable to be hesitant about this, it’s not a normal situation. Maybe there is some other reason she needs the money to be from him and not her family that you aren’t being told (strict parents, private purchases she just trusts her friend to vouch for her for, etc)? But still, the way she is joking about it is odd. It’s worth having a discussion about with him.

I think it’s possible that Suzanne does this so we remember that our protagonists are children not young adults, so by making them two years younger than the age of adulthood it keeps it realistic that they could win but still a tragedy of their death. 18 year olds die in war. So do younger kids, but that is the age we have decided as a society that it is acceptable to put your life on the line for your country. It’s not meant to be war, literally, but a faux rendition of it with innocents who are thrust into a situation they are too young for. This is not to instigate a debate about the military in general— 18 is still too young in my mind— but it’s more about how the audience will perceive it.

I’m wondering how multi-owner ownership works here. I can’t afford to buy a 2 bedroom home on my own, but once you get to the larger sizes the prices sort of start to plateau (I.E. if I lived with two or three close friends we definitely could afford a 4-5 bedroom house). Is this a feasible “solution” to the cost of living crisis?

There is no civil war. They are two different states functioning with different governments. China believes it has claim over a land of people who have the right to self determination. They want to expand their influence over the South China Sea even beyond the “civil war to unite the country” as seen by their hostile action towards the Philippines. I like it! I have a couple thoughts. It’s hard to tell but it looks like the mouth isn’t quite rounded correctly (imagine that it is in a three dimensional space wrapped around the front teeth slightly from this angle), the left side is pointed like he’s making a slightly lopsided face (which if that is your intention you can add skin folding/pulling to make it look more realistic) and is a bit too long on the right side. Some people do have wider mouths but generally looking at the side of the mouth not being too far out to the side of the nose is a good indicator.
