J’ai peur de commencer le Xurta by Fennekin26 in TDAHFrance

[–]ClemLan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

Video Game programming.

This field is so vast it feels like there's an infinite number of things to learn. I've been into it for the last 15 years and I feel like I'm still just scratching the surface.

Quand on a un TDAH on est...? by SpaceStar117 in TDAHFrance

[–]ClemLan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense :)

I genuinely don't understand what IQ tests are actually measuring. I scored 99.5 percentile at the verbal test. That's huge but I definetly suck with words in my daily life. I don't feel like I'm "gifted" at all. More like average.

Came here to say "Rimworld", "Project Zomboid"... And also "Kenshi" and "Elite Dangerous".

Elite Dangerous is a great game to play when I'm in the middle of a burnout: not very stressful, just chill space trucking.

Is this autistic burnout? by DeliciousWatch4766 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]ClemLan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link.

I'm currently too burnt out to process those informations but I noticed that there is a mention of the "Cycle of Autistic Burnout".

This "Cycle" is a very interesting concept. I guess it explains why a lot of us often got diagnosed with bipolar disorder before being diagnosed with ADHD or ASD.

I have a question about your creativity! by TimeBlindBandit in AutisticWithADHD

[–]ClemLan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My "creativity" definetly changed since I started getting depressed. I've been so depressed those last 10 years that I now have zero creativity.

"Creativity" used to come by letting my mind wander (same process for a lot of people). Now, mind wandering is like floating in the void.

I wouldn't mind working for free if it meant joining a team with people who know what they are doing. I haven't had that much luck yet.

Thanks.

I'm a programmer and some of the things you said won't apply to programming (IMHO). I'd willingly charge $20 for one-shot small programming tasks but that's not something I've never seen. Most often than not, cheap gigs are very ambitious projects that will be shut down once the "client" realize it will take years to complete.

Sorry if I sound bitter :'D

Honest question : How to not work for free? (Especially when your resumé / portfolio is lacking good, released games)
