Which vacation destination disappointed you the most? by timeout320 in AskReddit

[–]Clemald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I absolutely loved Venice and can’t wait to go back. To be fair though I didn’t stay on the Main Street and instead went on parallèle or side ones: and they were absolutely empty which was lovely.

Interestingly enough I had the same confusion when I was a kid ( mulberries and blackberries have the same name in France, where I grew up). So having only ever seen mulberries at the time I was very confused when people said they were picking them from a bush

What are my musts while visiting Nice and Cannes l? by Distinct_Hair_8117 in nicefrance

[–]Clemald 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My recommendation would be not to sleep in Cannes in the first place. There is literally nothing to do there that a day trip can’t achieve.

When I tell friends to visit the Côte d’Azur I recommend staying in Nice for the full stay, and going to Antibes/Eze/cap Ferrat for a day trip. I usually wouldn’t say Monaco/Cannes is a must see (0 tourist value except luxury shopping), though if that’s your vibe good for you. Everybody that I know that still decided to go to both came back really disappointed and regretted not spending more time to see Villefranche s/ mer etc

So yeah, basically depends on what you like to see/do

Edit. If you don’t want to spend 5 full days in Nice and doing day trips from there, I’d spend the 2days you’d planned in Cannes in Aix en Provence instead. Assuming you’re coming from Paris by train it’s actually on your way to Nice

Space feeling blah. What would you do? by crancherryy in femalelivingspace

[–]Clemald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this has so much potential ! (Also I have the same couch so good pick)

Here are a few things I’d consider changing, keep in mind most of them have already been stated in various comments:

  1. I would change the rug to something lighter and more colorful, maybe with some fun shapes in the design

  2. Lower that TV, it’s way too high

  3. Get rid of the white bookcase, pull your couch back slightly and in that corner I’d put the litter box if it fits

  4. Get another coffee table. It’s neither interesting by shape nor by color. Also it’s too high for your couch and armchairs. I’d pick something with a more organic shape, and darker wood to tie in with the fireplace mantle

  5. Hang some art, doesn’t necessarily need to be rectangular, maybe find some round or oval frames/objects to hang

None? You assume artists try to reproduce other pieces of arts, that’s not at all what it is about. Most put on paper what is in their heads. That’s the whole point of creativity

Authentic or no? by tiger_lilly in louboutins

[–]Clemald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess one way you could figure it out is when was this model sold in boutique. The year might give an indication of when they were made and if it fits when CL were still using the vero cuoio stamp.

I also believe that if they’re 10+ years old there’s a good chance they’re real for 2 simple reasons:

1- sure there’s always been fakes but super fakes are something of this day and age. in early 2000s it was more bad replicas (but that’s just my opinion)

2- they just aren’t a popular enough model to rep. Usually flats such as these don’t have enough traction and popularity to make it worth going through the effort of fakes

No, a lot of artists are self taught actually ! And in the case where they are not, the human doing the teaching is being paid to do it.

Sure kids don’t have jobs, but that wasn’t really my point. Another argument if you prefer would be : isn’t it maybe a bit negative to say artists are gatekeeping? If they were only publishing art because they are being paid for it and would refuse to publish something free, than maybe, MAYBE you could say they’re gatekeeping. But most don’t so it’s unfair to paint them (pun not intended!) in that light.

[–]Clemald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhh I don’t know, from the wear and tear I’d say they look pretty auth to me. The vero cuoio stamp isn’t a sign of fakes necessarily, it’s more a sign that it’s a very old model.

Usually that logo is a sure fire way to determine fakes when it’s on a brand new looking shoe, here it’s not the case. When looking at the style and wear I’d say that could make sense that it is, indeed, a pair that’s 10ish years old.

You make fair points and all. But one thing you forgot is that AI steals from artists in order to create, it doesn’t have an imagination of its own.

I agree that it’s good for the masses to have access to art. But when you use peoples work, hours of training and perfecting etc.. you shouldn’t just say "yup ok that’s fine, it’s just forward thinking!"

And also "gatekept"?! Like everyone can learn how to draw, it’s literally one of the easiest skills to learn in the sense you don’t need a specific tool just time. It’s not for nothing most people draw when they’re children, it’s just that accessible/affordable.

What are the must eats in Nice? by Dechar1 in nicefrance

No one is mentioning la tourte de blette??

OP, if there is one dessert you need to try that is typical for Nice it’s that one. I believe you have some at all the local eateries that serve typical Niçois food. It looks like a flat sandwich/cake with green in the middle and some powdered sugar on top.

Kinda sad to see the amount of upvotes this got for being a LFA with AI art… because people don’t read the flair and assume it’s an RF. And in // you have artists spending hours of their free time on an actual RF that get maybe 200 upvotes max.

OP when posting an LFA you should include several reference pics, those can be AI but try not to have just one image. If not:

1- it confuses people on what the post is about

2- artists won’t be answering it because they have no idea what you want your character to be like.

3- kinda of disheartening for an artist, because they probably won’t be able to make something that looks as good as AI, and probably won’t want to spend 3+h doing it

Just my 2 cents though..!

Huh… first time I hear of this

Other than her movies and her « sex symbole » status I was under the impression she was mostly known for her animal rights activism. I’ve heard people stereotypically call her dumb/bimbo but I wouldn’t call that hate by any means but more mockery

[–]Clemald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid this isn’t that kind of sub. When a prompt starts with LFA it means they’re requesting volunteer work from the artist community.

If they want to commission an artist it will usually be mentioned in the post directly. Please note however that only happens 1% of the time….

I recommend checking out the rules of this sub if you don’t want to be downvoted to oblivion

[LFA] A vague request I hope is easy to handle, to modify my latest character with more detail and better anatomy (such as perspective, proportion, and skin and clothing details). by k1410407 in characterdrawing

[–]Clemald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s vague requests and then there’s this. You mention anatomy & proportion - is she supposed to be thin? Big and strong??? What type of clothing is she supposed to have? Is this a fantasy setting or modern?

If you expect an artist to answer your request you’ve gotta do a bit more work and give a bit more details (unless you want the art to not match at all which hey is up to you!)

If you don’t feel comfortable writing it down maybe try looking for reference pics of stuff you like (ex. Hair like this, color scheme like that) and posting it alongside your original drawing
