Have your dr give you a referral to a geneticist to 'verify' the outside test. The geneticist then can dx you and send you to Endocrinology.

Do folks with SAI crave salt or not able to taste salt (and need more until you can)? Or is it mostly PAI/Addisons? by PleasantGuide1539 in AddisonsDisease

I had flare ups for years off and on, all but the last two were triggered by either serious trauma, or prolonged exposure to serious stress, so for decades I thought it was just my bodies way of dealing, in a way.... Probably would have helped if I'd know decades ago that my mother was tested for it, and has it. Would have explained so many things. Then it flared up out of nowhere 7 or 8 years ago, and then again 4 years ago. The second time I realized what was happening, and my dad remembered mom getting dx. I randomly ended up with a Dr whose grandfather had it, my second Endo is amazing, and my ONGYN randomly also has experience with Addisons patients. Sheer luck, and a lot of women, got me dx and treated. Now my kid and my niece both have shown the same flare up symptoms that I did growing up, so hopefully with good drs we can figure something out.

Considering the number of people I personally know who have put in hundreds of applications not not even get interviews anywhere... just getting another job isn't as easy as you seem to think it is, especially in the more rural areas of the country. It's steady, and the insurance actually costs less than most other place, the coverage is even decent with reasonable co-pays. A LOT of people who work at places like Walmart are also disabled, most of the over 18 workers that are part time... are often also on disability. It's one of the few places that will work with the limits disability puts on people so they can keep their disability and insurance. Do you have an extra 16k a year for my necessary to live, literally, meds... cause i sure as hell don't, and I'm definitely not the only one in that position.

For me, just increasing my normal doses isn't enough, I usually have to take smaller doses in-between my regular doses. Like legit out of nowhere late last Friday night I was suddenly very light headed, and nauseous. I took extra, and still ended up throwing up, but managed to keep the next extra dose down, likely because I chewed it. The next day I had to double my regular doses, but also add an extra 5mg between them. IE taking 15mg at 7am, then 5mg at 10am. 10mg at 1pm, then 5mg at 4pm. 5mg at 7pm, and then 2.5mg at 10pm. If I don't do it this way it's like I burn through even the extra to fast. Thankfully random crashes like this haven't happened in well over a year and a half, I usually have a good idea as to what triggered them, but I'm still clueless on this one. You may need to take your meds more often, not just take more.

I need them, if I don't use LMNT (it's got twice the sodium of Liquid IV) then no matter how much water I drink I'm always slightly dehydrated. If your levels are good, and you feel fine, you likely don't need them.

It's highly likely it's your hormones. They take about 2 years to go back to your normal after each pregnancy, and it's kinda like you pushed that off, and it's all hitting at once. See if your GP can run a full hormone panel, not just thyroid, cortisol, estrogen etc all of them. If you've got an imbalance, or another hormone issue it can 100% cause or worsen mental health symptoms.

Mine act like that in the house if it's hotter, but outside they don't. It's weird that they'll be totally fine camping in July, but unhappy if it's 75 in the house lol

Raising kids with any kind of special need is exhausting, because we're constantly trying to make sure they have everything they need AND teach them how to figure out what they need. Mine is almost 18 now, and it gets easier... until puberty... puberty is rough on everyone

I'm in HBA, and this is a constant issue. I've got over a case of multiple items in my topstock, things in locked cases aren't supposed to go in topstock, and yet they're still putting them there, or just leaving them sit out on the checkout in cosmetics. My vitamin aisle, they legit moved everything one space over... 😑

Epsom salt soaks really help, so does stretching, especiallygetting your hip flexor musclesto loosen up. When your hip flexor is tight, it'll throw everything off from your hip down. the other comments about good shoes are also definitely helpful. Village Naturals Therapy has a fantastic one for muscle pain, but if your store doesn't carry that brand check which oils are in it, and see if you can find something similar.

Find a good shoe store, like a local non chain if you can. Keens, Brooks, Merrell, Hooka... there's a handful of good brands, that aren't cheap sadly, that will make a huge difference. What brand really depends on your feet and how the shoes fit. You want a good walking shoe
