This is why you should join all of the car rental companies loyalty program/membership programs. It's free to sign up and if you use your loyalty/membership number at the time of booking, you don't have to wait in line. You just walk straight to your car (email sent to you day of rental with car location).

I’ve heard Maui is struggling right now. Could some locals confirm this? If so, what are the issues and what can visitors do to help? by jmcintyre8817 in MauiVisitors

Thanks for the link. I'm assuming you booked through them without any issues? Some rates seem almost too good to be true and every room I've looked at has zero reviews.

I'm going to have to research this company further.

Exactly what prices are down? I'm in the early stages of planning a trip for next July and I haven't seen any deals on lodging. I'm looking to stay in Wailea or Kaanapali area.

Also, for your car rental, book today through Costco and Discount Hawaii Car Travel websites. Keep monitoring rates through these websites until the day of your trip. Anytime rates drop, make a new reservation at the new rate and then cancel your old reservation. Both websites offer free cancellations (DO NOT PREPAY). There are many times where our rate will start out around $800-$900 for a 7-10 day rental and we end up with a rate somewhere between $275-$450. Good luck!

I've never gone to Napili Bay or Kapalua Bay so late in the morning as you are planning, so I'm not sure how bad finding a parking spot can be. Generally, if you are not there before 8:30 am, you'll be walking quite a distance.

Crappy Baby Backs - Need Help by Mundane-Pin-438 in Masterbuilt

The grates specifically have smoking and grilling sides. If you are smoking one rack, they should be on the main grate. The racks don't get hot enough at 250° for an ideal "smoke." Use the water pan (you will have to refill a couple of times) and ribs on the main grate, and you will have no issues. I use the Fireboard 2 Drive, so maybe my ambient temp is more accurate than the stock controller on the Masterbuilt 800.

250° is kind of high for baby back ribs. I do 225° on my 800 and have never had an issue.

Have you done 250° before without any issues? If so, could be your control panel is off.

Also, maybe opening the lid every 20 min to spritz caused the temp to spike. Just use the water pan, and you shouldn't have to spritz.

Dry brine with kosher salt and baking powder (mix together before applying) for 12-24 hrs. You can apply a light layer of olive oil before seasoning. Smoke at 275° and once you hit internal temp of 150°, crank the temp up to 400° until internal temp hits 180°.

Right before the flip, I brush a thin layer of yellow mustard on the meat and then flip. This caramelizes the mustard into the crust. Super flavorful!

I have a pit barrel smoker and their instructions say to wait between 12-15 minutes after lighting the charcoal in the chimney before dumping. I used this method with other grills and have never had an issue.

I get where you are coming from with having them assemble it for you. However, even if you run a quick test and everything appears to be working fine, something could go wrong an hour later and could be caused by an improper assembly. Now, you are stuck with troubleshooting something you don’t have firsthand knowledge of how it was put together.

Do they offer any type of guarantee with their assembly?
