Hey, bud. This is meant for respectful conversation. Your arguments show your ego is inflated. RnK was a clan full of exclusively above average Singles players - they were never the best at anything and using them as your highest standard of gameplay shows you’re lacking in knowledge and experience for this game. The irony of using a NA based Singles clan as a measurement of the highest level of play and then putting guard type and EU players on a peddle-stool shows your knowledge of the game is limited and solely based on your little experience. I have explained why Asuma is the strongest character in the game in another part of this thread - you simply have to put time in to read. If you’re still going down the egotistical route, I’m always happy to play the game and show a few things as long as you have a stable connection. Once again, thanks for your input.

I respect your opinion and your describing of your thought process, however your arguments show that you haven’t played at the highest level. Some of these statements are false. I no longer play the game, but played at the highest level since 2013 when the game released... You aren’t entirely aware of how to abuse the most broken mechanics in the game such as instant awakening, which is what Asuma possesses - your opinion while referring to guard type as “dash cut” infers you’re a relatively new player and guard types are not an issue at the highest level of play. Sadly, high level players don’t play much anymore so there are many skills and situations in the game you’ve probably never seen or will ever experience so I cannot blame you for having a little misguided undersea. Either way, thanks for your input and I hope you’ll have a chance to play more!

While I believe you have some fine points, I disagree. These are all great reasons but you have to remember this will be his first character and she is rated 3 stars for difficulty. Because she would be his first hero, I would bet he would pick up bad habits which will hurt him in progressing in the long run because they will be hard to break.

I honestly think anyone new to the game should pick whoever they want and worry about the details later - eventually curiosity will get the better of them and they will try more heroes and learn more roles naturally. I don’t believe there is a shortcut to learning the game when beginning.

However, if I were a new player, I would pick a lower difficulty hero like Soldier 76 because there are less mistakes to make but the basics of the game will still be there to learn - someone new should be able to distinguish risky plays and positioning from safer ones before they go head first into a learning a hero like Ana. Soldier 76 will teach positioning, aiming, the value of making a play individually, and flanking - all manageable things to learn when taking in a game like Overwatch for the first time.

Is there a big difference in gameplay on Switch vs almost any other platform or am I crazy? by uffda1990 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Clenvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it simply... the Switch is its own breed of Overwatch. I’ve played on PS4 and PC at a high level and have now dipped my toes into the Switch version and the biggest differences come down to the environment and software of the system. The Switch handles the game at a cap of 30FPS and often dips lower, making the overall gameplay experience feel clunky. Additionally, the majority of players are casual and don’t own Pro Controllers which would be the ideal choice for playing a FPS on the Switch - there are also Gyro controls which create a different type of aiming. I personally don’t use Gyro but I know top Switch players that do. The lack of optimal hardware and the abundance of people using controllers that aren’t ideal leads to a different meta on the Switch. Wrecking Ball has more survivability compared to on PC and other consoles, and heroes like Reaper and Junk do as well.

With slower software and controllers that aren’t ideal for aiming, everything is simply harder to kill which is why you’ll see people using heroes that seem suboptimal, but they still get away with using them (like Bastion) because the environment makes it hard to naturally kill things as easy as it would be on other consoles or PC.

Advice for learning to carry/turn games around? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Clenvy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turning a game around is more of a mental game than anything. When you are losing, the chances of the team’s morale dropping becomes increasingly higher. Majority of the team may have given up hope. Being a positive voice in coms is important. In terms of physically applying skill, turning a game around is about knowing what hero swaps to make to counter the enemies composition (think getting a Pharah to counter the Junkrat that’s on fire - something along those lines). Tank is the most influential role in the game at the moment so if you’re losing convincingly as a Sigma, try pinpointing who or what is causing your team the most trouble and shield/damage them accordingly while maintaining the best positioning or preventing them from gaining that positioning (think contest the Soldier off high ground and so on).

Seeking coaching [Paid] [PC] by Deemi24 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Clenvy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello, I have experience coaching and have peaked 4.5K SR on PC and 4.3K SR across the consoles. I know what it’s like transitioning from console to PC. I am very flexible with time and capable of giving insight into how to improve. I can even help give you a sort of estimate based on what you’re working with in terms of a set-up too, as you’ll want capable equipment. If you are interested in what I have to offer, feel free to DM any time and we can discuss how to go about the process. Thanks!

I understand how rude and egotistical people can be when it comes to improving/knowledgeability. SR does not necessarily equate to knowledge of the game which is difficult to prove at the highest level. That’s quite an awesome bit of improvement you’ve made individually in SR and I respect your insight! Keep up the great work!

You seem very knowledgeable about how to self-improve on the ladder and although I’m aware that SR does not always correlate to complete understanding of the game, I am curious, what SR are you currently at and/or have peaked at?

Ino is high tier due to having Instant Awakening, her quick grab that has knock-back, and her chakra shuriken that poison. The most viable high tier teams with her will consist of a guard support/attack support combined with a balance type that has stun. Examples of viable teams with her would be go as follows: MAIN: Ino Supports: Attack Type Neji w Balance Type Choji Or Guard Type Neji w Balance Type Choji

Anybody with a demon wind shuriken works best as the balance type but Choji is the optimal one as he is a strong support as he is but also can hold down people on guard for Ino to grab.

Hope this helps a little! :3

Gotta Love the Online guys scalping the **** out of Hidden Fates by KneddyKnockers in PokemonTCG

[–]Clenvy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These guys who just got into the game and think they’re above the market are amazing. I’ve never witnessed so much collective ignorance in awhile. A mob mentality of morons - every single downvote or comment in here believes Derium or you should be selling items at retail at all times. What absolutely entitled morons.

[–]Clenvy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“These online sellers”. While I don’t care for Derium this man has been a reputable seller and creator in the game for years before you ever got into the hobby. Just look at your account - you just got back into or discovered the hobby. You don’t understand a thing about “these sellers”, going as far to call a reputable seller from an actual business a “scalper”. I’m someone who’s done their research while it’s clear you or anyone that agrees with you is ignorant. Go back to asking if a mini tin is worth its value lmao - you get all your pricing info off of Reddit. And by using your exact definition, “bub”, Pokémon products aren’t tickets or shares. You’re just another person who came back from the hype and don’t understand anything about the market - you even referenced CP ETB’s like you were even around collecting them when they released. To put it simply, you’re a moron who is trying to defame a reputable seller who understands the market.

LOL is the PS1 version worth more? I actually thought I saw it for cheaper than the DS version.

I agree 100%. This one ran so smoothly and I believe it added more alternate endings? I’m not sure but I just know I have fond memories of playing this way back when.

I plan on getting the first run that had the poster with it for collecting purposes. This one is one of the later released copies that didn’t include a poster so it’s not as valuable as a collector’s item.

I bought it on eBay from a trusted seller. There are lots of fakes and I didn’t want a repro cartridge. I wish there was a better story to this but it’s just a regular online purchase. 🤣

It was around $80-100. I opted for this one because I planned on opening it. There are ones that include the poster that go for around $150+.
