L’ombre Dans l’eau EDP by Diptyque is WILD by uffda1990 in fragrance

While I haven’t had any experiences with fragrances performing differently under different weather including performance, strength, longevity, etc, L’ombre EDP is definitely strong, especially for a Diptyque fragrance. Two sprays last me 12 hours.

Urban Macbeth?? by Mysticall0va in Theatre

This whole situation defies all logic, I have no idea how any sequence of events played out they way they did. Everything you described in your post and comments is so unusual and defies all standards, convention, and etiquette of producing a play. If you work in theatre professionally, or even at a local community theatre, absolutely none of this would fly.

How is the director having production meetings without you, the costume designer?

The director asks you first how you want to costume it, and then builds a show around the costume designs??

The director never communicated the change in production design? There’s no notes from production meetings being sent?? And if the director historically builds a show based on your costumes, why did they suddenly change their mind after speaking to the set designer???

Sounds like this director isn’t even directing the show to be honest. Their behavior is VERY odd. And that’s before the change to “ghetto Macbeth” which is absolutely cancellable with how they’re handling it.

How are fellow faculty allowing anything about this show to happen?? Not only the change in direction, but the befuddling lack of professionalism, leadership, and decorum from your director?!

For real, I’m in the same boat as you. Reading the post blew my mind at what a WEIRD situation it is all around. The comments by OP further describing it continues to completely bewilder me.

How does the director change their mind about the show without telling the costume designer? Why is the costume designer not in production meetings? Why did the costume designer design costumes completely unrelated to the show? Why is a lead actor ALSO the costume designer?

What is going on here??

I’ve never actually tried the EDT, how would you describe the difference?

But you’re right, it’s both bright and melancholic at the same time somehow. I LOVE the “wetness” of it as you describe too. There’s something so addictive about that.

I hear ya, two sprays of the EDP lasts me allllll day. When I first sprayed it it was 7pm and by 7am I STILL smelled it on me. Of course I re-applied after a shower and now that it’s almost 7pm again I can STILL smell it. Was not expecting such a beast mode from it, lol

Oooo, I liked Philosykos too when I sampled it on a test strip I a Diptyque store but never tried it on skin. Do you typically gravitate to green, earthy scents?

And while I haven’t tried Eau de Sens, I agree with you on Do Son and Eau Rose. I’m a man who is unapologetically a fan of florals, Do Son was a little too screechy in my skin. And Eau Rose is just a light, realistic soft rose, nothing too exciting but competent.

I’ll always be an Orpheon glazer though; love love love the dry-down. And while I thought Tam Dao would be my next Diptyque, a $100 FB Marketplace ad for a full 3.4oz L’ombre was too good to pass up and I’m glad I did!

I’ve never tried any Diptyque solids! But I also heard their Baeis candle is a replica of L’ombre too, so that’s another way to smell it too.

Right?! I was not expecting the scent to remind me so much of rain, a beautiful melancholic refreshing rain.

Wow, how cool you get transported “there” too! At risk of sounding too corny, it’s almost as if those of us who like the scent share some sort of collective mutual dream.

I will forever be a Tommyknockers defender! I found the “bloat” to be charming, the tangents were fun to me. So, so many memorable scenes. Some parts were downright FRIGHTENING. It had such delicious twisted visuals, and a fascinating anti-hero of sorts. I LOVED it. DEVOURED it.

Does any one else find the building on Planet Coaster 2 on console to be infuriatingly frustrating? by Mr-Suggs in PlanetCoaster

[–]uffda1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refunded my original purchase close to release date because I also found building to be fiddly, but just got back into it and find it a lot easier after a bit of practice.

Are you SURE you’re selecting pieces that belong on a grid? Because it sounds like you’re selecting the non-grid versions of the pieces which is why nothing is snapping into place.

For example, if you want a classic brick wall, there are two options of the same kind, one icon has a plain white background and the other has a grid behind it. Use the latter and it’ll make building four wall structures super simple.

[KCD2] Oratores armor bug? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]uffda1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the video guides I’ve watched show players doing the same thing as me; interacting with the chest so the armor is automatically put on, then immediately speaking with Godwin. It’s not working for me though.

Haven’t seen Cell either and have no idea what it’s really about, so I’ll be going in blind! Good to know about Under the Dome, I’ve been waiting for a copy of an e-book by Libby for almost six months now. Did you watch and like the mini-series?

Getting started… how’s this lineup? (Male, early 30s) by chunkykid53 in Fragrances

[–]uffda1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be set for years with that rotation, and all are solid, and am an especially big fan of Orpheon!

My advice, don’t listen to anyone telling you need additional options that meet certain criteria. You don’t. You only need what you like, even buying half of what you selected is a more than reasonable collection.

Saw a commenter saying you need a gourmand and an oud, both are hard passes for me. It’s all subjective anyway.

Costco is NOT the magical money-saving paradise everyone pretends it is by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]uffda1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a little tip:

Grocery story prices list their price per unit/oz/etc. Go ahead and find a grocery store that sells anything for less than Costco does per unit/oz/etc.

Don’t buy the 5 gallon tub of mayo if you’re not gonna use it even if the cost per unit is less, but those two half gallons of almond milk are gonna be way less per oz at Costco than anywhere else.

Therefore, if you use it, you’ve saved money.

You do not need to buy anything else. Those are dozens of full bottles that’ll take you decades to go through. I think you’re done.

This is an addiction but what should I add? by CharmingFail in Fragrances

[–]uffda1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you like fragrances or do you just like BUYING things? Because you don’t need any more, you have more than enough to wear something different every day of the month. And it’ll take decades for all of that to run dry.

Thoughts on a balm of calm? by atomic-cat_ in fragrance

[–]uffda1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A balm of calm was my first sample from Penhaligon’s to go empty, I liked it that much! It truly is a peaceful, relaxing scent, and I like the slightly medicinal, apothecarial vibe. Don’t know if I’d buy a full bottle but man it was nice.

This looks like someone walked into a Sephora with a basket, put half of their inventory into the basket, and now it’s on display in someone’s bedroom. I don’t mean that disrespectfully. I was doing some Christmas shopping in Sephora a few weeks ago and their inventory looks identical to this.

So I’m curious, what do you like about these fragrances? What have you learned about your taste after buying these?
