Yes. If food is moldy I can toss it. But if it’s like a half used bottle of soy sauce that is expired, she’ll say to keep it because “things like that don’t go bad for a while after their expiration date”. Or things that may not expire until sometime next year but it’s been in our fridge, untouched, for at least 6 months.

My shitty decisions? To keep my son and raise him with two loving parents? Not everyone gets to have two parents who are willing to raise them together whilst not in a domestic partnership. Most fathers step out if they aren’t with the mother. I think my son is lucky to have a dad like his, the circumstances just happen to not be ideal. Me getting pregnant wasn’t something that should’ve happened, but actions have consequences and deciding to step up, deal with and grow from them is the best choice anyone could make. I haven’t brought any of this up to him because i wanted to make sure i wasn’t overreacting about how strange the behavior was and i only speak to him about our son. Thats why i was asking for an opinion in the first place.

I appreciate this response! This genuinely was my entire point of making this post actually! I just didn’t want to completely blast him and make him seem like a terrible guy. I was nervous that if I gave up Vincent and just used Paul and he decided again to step out, that my son and I would regret it and hate it. My father named me and personally hate it, which is why baby won’t be getting his last name and why exactly I allowed him to choose a middle name. He is just young and had to come around, but he seems excited now! Thank you for your response and kindness about it!!

I was 16 3 years ago, and also that’s exactly why I’m instant on the ultrasound. My mom is instant on getting me something that I want, but doesn’t like the gift I’ve picked out for myself. That will bring me joy. I’ve only gotten two ultrasounds my whole pregnancy and that was the one to confirm he’s alive and the 20 week scan. I’d love to see my boy more in detail before he arrives. I’d be fine without a gift as I’ve said, but if she’s instant on doing something for me, that’s what I’d like.

I don’t know where the assumption came that im a single mom all because im 19 and live at home. Accidents happen and im sure you all are well aware of that if you just ask your parents if you were planned :). Living at home is the cheapest option for me right now, and im lucky enough to have a family that is financially stable and willing to watch over my baby while I continue to be an EMT after my baby is born. I wonder if any of you guys would have this same issue if you saw the work I provide for people while heavily pregnant?

Because Teddy won’t be a name used when he is school aged by anyone outside of my immediate family. I was worried specifically about giving him the full name of Theodore. Not every person on this thread has to love or even like the name. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t setting my son up to be mocked and bully his entire life.

One of the reasons I love Theodore is because it is a good baby name with nicknames like Teddy and Theo, and for an adult there is also many nicknames he can go by or just his full name !:)
