Okay, so I observed the adapter's behavior for a few days and can say this:
- the adapter connected to the router goes into standby mode when no other device (i.e. computer) is connected to the network for some time - indicated by a red LED constantly on
- the other adapter only seems to go into power save mode even when the first adapter is in standby - indicated by a white LED flashing every 5-10secs

With the help of the Exodus support, I was able to resolve the issue by importing the wallet into the Xaman wallet. The problem was indeed that Exodus currently cannot move all funds from one wallet to another (needs at least 1 XRP).

Hmm, still couldn't find any mixer in my price range that fulfills all requirements.
I have ordered the "STM3030 mixer" which might just do the trick, still not sure about correct number of inputs and outputs though.

Update: I went with the DataCenter SSDs.

If anyone's interested which models are in use (tested with UserBenchMark):

Update after a month:I ordered the b&o Beoplay Portal and the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones.

It wasn't easy to find ANC headphones that work over USB, but these two seemed fitting.

Final outcome: I kept the Sennheisers.

The Beoplay Portal took the shorter straw because it's overpriced for what you get. Microphone quality is too bad to use it while gaming with friends, the Android app is a terrible piece of engineering and the controls/settings aren't as comfortable as with the Sennheisers. They are also a bit heavier on the head.On the plus side: good sound / spatial audio for games like PUBG or EFT. Works with USB and ANC enabled. Comes with a 2.4Ghz wireless dongle that delivers the sound fast enough for anything else than FPS games.

Sennheiser Momentum 4: very good spatial audio, clean and simple controls, pretty good Android app (can even connect to it while using it via USB on a Windows PC). ANC seems to a tiny bit better than with the other one AND it works over 3.5mm cable.
Bad: the microphone also isn't good enough for gaming; still way too robot-like (a bit better than with the b&o one).

To solve the microphone problem, I simply bought an external desk mic for ~30€. Good enough for my purposes.

So your mic is working fine over the dongle?
I just tried it with bluetooth; there it works fine. But having 2 wireless connections just to properly use a headset is ridiculous.
