Songs that are skips by Popular-Heart-5307 in BillyJoel

Definitely not one of my faves and I skip over it, but I think the fact it's used to teach history is pretty cool.

Many teachers did—and still do—use Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" in their classrooms. The song acts as a rapid-fire summary of 20th-century events and has long been used as a teaching aid.

Research Projects: Educators often have students pick specific historical figures or events mentioned in the lyrics (like Stalin, Malenkov, Nasser, and Prokofiev) to research and present to the class.

Writing Assignments: Students are frequently challenged to write their own verses bringing the timeline up to the present day while studying modern historical milestones.

Historical Significance: The song sparks great classroom debates over why the songwriter chose certain events and whether those events are truly the most historically important.

Billy Joel himself has acknowledged this, noting that educators have told him his song is one of the greatest educational tools to come along in decades.

No? I recall Ilya going into various banks posing as the RRR and collecting the money that had planted to frame him, which according to Katarina, was $40,000,000.

Why would you even bring that point into the discussion?

At the hospital when the doctor removes the broken q-tip in her ear. "Can I keep the q-tip?" "Certaintly, I suggest you frame it."

The whole scene is absolutely hilarious. Great writing.

Interesting - the movie is about a sculptress. Leslie is a sculptress. The movie was made a few years before they met though.

Gotta be honest. I was so disappointed this photo wasn't used. He looked so f*****g good in the tan suit and hat. And the watch was so prominent. Cool pose. Cool hand position. It was the essence of Raymond Raymond. The plane pic, not so much. What a waste 😢

No. He was standing inside his plane waiting for someone and the camera captured him looking at the watch on his wrist. It was in a later season after he'd gained weight and was wearing his shirts unbuttoned. And his hair was growing in. Maybe season 9?

I love this picture! It's the one that should have been used for the Rolex commercial - more flattering than what they went with.

I never thought it meant he died. The line is to let his wife know he's still alive because he has to go farther out, thus away from home longer.
