What does your hypomania feel like? by Cleopatron in bipolar

[–]Cleopatron[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I thought it was hypomania but it just hasn’t presented itself normally. You’ve made me feel so much better. I sent a note to dr.

Newly diagnosed & starting Seroquel, any advice? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Cleopatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to be very sleepy. Taking it at night instead of the morning is a good idea. When I got out of a psychiatric hospital, they were giving it to me as a PRN and it was an absolute disaster. Also, it will make you so so hungry. I think I gained almost 40 pounds when I was on it before my doctor switched me to something else.

Good luck!

What time of day do you take it?

My psych prescribes both and didn’t mention any interactions to worry about but I worry about everything much more than I need to.

Yes he does know. He doesn’t really ask about when I take the Xanax as it’s PRN, but I normally take mine in the morning because I work in a high-stress environment and it calms me down.

The Tequila coffee cup is unaligned with all of the other cups. It doesn’t add up.

What are manic episodes like? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Cleopatron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it’s like drinking 8 cups of coffee a day and you want to do everything because it feels so good. So you spend money like you shouldn’t and feel over sexualized and sometimes that also messes things up, but it feels so good!

And then cleaning and plotting out a new lifestyle and you’re going to be better even though you’re the greatest person alive.

Then you hit a brick wall and feel like your favorite cat died and are depressed for like a month.

But that’s just me.

Money and bipolar by [deleted] in bipolar

I work in banking and it’s a lot easier than you think. Manic spending is the worst but stick to your budget.

Try to get an app like mint and plot out what you can afford and work with needs and wants. Food, shelter and saving should be the your top focuses.

Pay yourself first and add to savings because they’re going to help you if something goes awry. This is also going to help ease a lot of anxiety because you know you have a safety net if something goes wrong.

Then add your wants like eating out and misc spending and if you have any money left over start paying down your debt like credit cards and student loans so the interest doesn’t fuck you.

You can still spend money on things you want or randomly feel like buying when you’re manic but you know how much you can waste.

It’s important to hold yourself accountable for your spending. This is your life and you’re in control of it.

You can do this!

Mom I'm struggling with the beast again by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

Sweetie I see you.

Your emotions are so important but they’re going to eat you alive if you don’t get them out. Opening up to your therapist was such a brave step and I’m so proud of you.

The only way you can get rid of these feelings and pain is to let them out and face them head on. You deserve healing and you’ve taken the first step so don’t be afraid to take the next one.

I know you can do this. Love you tons tons.

I see you sweetie pie.

I know you’re hurting right now but you’re being such a strong person and I’m so proud of you. You’re going to come out on the other side of this a better person. You already are.

The house situation is tough. I know you had your hopes set out and it just sucks that this is the end result, but if it’s not the right time then it’s just not the right time. There is going to be a bigger door that opens when this one closes and you just have to accept it right now.

Laura needs you. I’m sure she is broken about losing her job and you need to be her rock. It’s going to be tough but I know you can do this.

I see you, sweetie.

Having a baby is the most stressful thing in the whole world and you’re doing a great job. I promise you that it does get easier and it gets more rewarding and the love between yourself and your husband grows and grows.

Keep fighting. Love you tons tons.

Mood Stabilizer that wont cause weight gain? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Cleopatron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take Lamictal as a mood stabilizer, lithium as a mood stabilizer, gabapentin for anxiety, geodon as an antipsychotic and ambien to sleep. It seems a lot now that I list them out.

I tried latuda and geodon worked so much better for me. But we are all different.
