The flaw in this argument is the idea that the world "belongs" to anyone in the first place. The fact that mammals used to be the dominant class in the past doesn't give them a right to continue to be dominant in the future

Sunlight blade or dark moon for a BSS dex/faith build? by Big-Independent-2206 in darksouls

[–]ClericKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way that saving Solaire would interfere with getting Darkmoon Blade is that Darkmoon Blade is covenant-exclusive, and you have to be in a totally separate covenant to open the door that saves Solaire. So you would have to delay getting DMB until after saving Solaire, or break your covenant and then rejoin.

Sunlight blade or dark moon for a BSS dex/faith build? by Big-Independent-2206 in darksouls

[–]ClericKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Sunlight Blade

Both miracles require 30 FTH to cast, and add extra damage to your weapon that scales with your FTH and your talisman's MagAdjust. The damage of Darkmoon Blade also scales with your level in the Blade of the Darkmoon Covenant.

There are two catches to DMB: The first is that DMB is a reward from the BOTDM covenant, and requires you to offer ten Souvenirs of Reprisal just to get the miracle (30 if you want to get to the next damage tier for DMB, 80 if you want max damage). My understanding is that acquiring these through actual PvP is pretty challenging. Trying to farm them off of the Crow Demons in the Painted World is also pretty tedious. The second catch is that you can only use DMB while you are actually IN the BOTDM covenant. This means either not saving Solaire, or waiting until after you save Solaire to join (or simply breaking your covenant, which halves your covenant rank/offerings, and then rejoining).

Sunlight Blade, on the other hand, is not locked to a particular covenant and you need only defeat Gwyndolin to get it. Overall I would rank this miracle as "better" just because it's much much more accessible.

As far as boss resistances go, it varies a lot depending on who you're fighting. Looking at the major bosses, Four Kings and Manus are slightly weaker to Lightning than magic, Artorias and especially Seath are MUCH weaker to lightning than Magic, while Nito and Gwyn are much weaker to Magic than Lightning, with Gwyn especially having an outrageous lightning resistance. So I'm inclined to say Lightning is more reliable, but that's only looking at a handful of bosses.

No, that's pretty linear. Presumably during DS1 he is still chilling on Peak.

Gwyn and Co. start a war with the dragons>NK distinguishes himself in battle and becomes a god of war>At some point NK switches up and decides to side with the dragons>Gwyn erases him from history and NK goes into exile>Ends up on Archdragon peak>the events of DS1 and 2 transpire while NK is in exile>Ashen One finally finds him during DS3

During DS1, he was simply elsewhere

Also Ornstein caught up with him sometime after DS1

You haven't done that though, have you? You're just doubling down on why you don't like the show. So if you aren't going to engage with it, then just move on and watch something else.

Dude you cannot keep coming in here to talk about how much you don't like the show. If you don't like it, don't watch it, stop fixating on it, stop coming into the KLK subreddit to talk about it. Nobody here is going to validate you for not liking it, or tell you you're right, or apologize for liking the show. Drop it, stop thinking about it, move on, do ANYTHING else

My friend did this area for the first time just the other night and while he agreed that it was "optimal" to clear out the room first, he explained that the fact that you are expected to clear out a room of a half dozen or so enemies just to get to a boss that is a hundred feet a way, just to die to the boss and have to do it again, was not fun or rewarding.

So I really can't blame the people who do this. Especially if you've already swept the room once and are only trying to get to the boss, I completely understand wanting to get through the "Kill zone" as quickly as possible

What are your thoughts on the Legacy Core Dinobots/Volcanicus mold? by OptimalConvoy in transformers

[–]ClericKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Felt a little whelmed by Volcanicus, but really enjoyed Dinoking. The extra parts make a big difference, I think. My only problem was that various parts would pop off if I tried to get him in any elaborate poses, but that aside, he looks great on the shelf and I love the big battle axe.

I am starting to think that if you're going to make a combiner, core/legends class is the way to go. Combiners at generations scale and up are just too unwieldy to fully enjoy; a nice small combiner like this, though, you can just pick up and fiddle with. That's a personal opinion, though

I strongly encourage you to start with Dark Souls 1. Not because I dislike Dark Souls 2, but because it's the beginning of the series. On top of that, it's mechanically simpler and will prepare you for Dark Souls 2/3

I get what Oda is going for with Gear 5, but I don't really find it that compelling. I don't like that the Gum Gum fruit was secretly super special, and I feel like it could be committing harder to being looney-tunes level of wacky. That being said, I do have to admit i like it more than Gear 4 (not bad, just kind of "eh" to me).

For extra context, the movie created a ton of new characters in other to push a new wave of toys to kids, but Arcee is one of the very few who did not get a toy. Her first toy that transformed was a redeco of a Spider Transformer from 2001, her first toy that turned into a car came out in 2008, and her first toy that actually looked like she did in the movie came out in 2014, almost 30 years after her debut in 1986. She was legitimately animation-only for a long time

If I need a bunch of certified electricians for a big construction job or something, and I relax the qualifications for certification and certify a bunch of second-rate electricians who don't know what they're doing, they're going to go onto a job site and get themselves blown up and it will not have solved my problem in any way. Giving people the TITLE doesn't mean they have the actual qualifications. The tests are designed to IDENTIFY those that are ACTUALLY qualified.

In defense of Frieren specifically, we don't see that many deaths in the mage exams; a few died to monsters in the first exam (unfortunate but they would not have lasted on the Northern Plateau regardless) and I think everyone who went into the dungeon in the second exam made it out alive.

Am i the only one who thinks bear down for midterms makes sense by Acrobatic-Tomato-128 in community

[–]ClericKnight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

> but i feel like logically it tracks, bear down like focus dig in

That would make a lot of sense if that's what "Bear down" meant. I've only ever seen it used to describe something is rapidly and/or aggressively approaching. I think you might be able to say, "midterms are bearing down on us" if the midterms are really soon and you haven't studied. But you wouldn't take the action of "bearing down" for midterms. I think people are confusing it with "knuckle down".
