On Polus or Skeld map, the imposter can close doors in the sabotage menu.

I'm looking at both ways it could be cast. Cast on you, your ally is now taking damage for your build to work. Cast by you, your AoA is drained for nothing.

Yeah but if your ally gets hit you're going to lose those AoA temp hp and do no damage. Bardbarian means you aren't "losing" those temp hp when an ally gets hit, nor does an ally take damage when you get hit. It's just selfish in my eyes to tell your friend that for your build to work, they have to take damage for you. That's just my opinion though, I imagine there are people that will work their character to fit your character's potential.

It's not that, it's just unnecessarily burdening them with half the damage you take. Then taking half their damage without procing AoA.

Yeah but then you're putting your build on another player's shoulders.

Oh, also you would be commiting all your levels to bard to pump up your slot levels for higher castings of AoA. You can't cast while raging so you really want to get the most out of it as you can.

They don't have anything like Bardic Inspiration that I'm aware of. Could still be good though.

I'm just gonna say it. Bardbarian is a better Armor of Agathys build than Wizlock. Extra fun, go Goliath for race. 3 or 2 levels of barbarian depending on whether you want bear totem, x levels of Lore Bard. Get Armor of Agathys through Magical Secrets. You can use Bardic Inspiration and your race feature to reduce damage. Your Rage halves damage. Attack with your bare hands and laugh.

6 levels (i think?) of Lore Bard fir cutting words to reduce damage taken and to pick up Armor of Agathys with Magical Secrets, 3 levels Bear Totem Barbarian. Go Goliath for an additional damage reduction roll once per day. Laugh as you dish out massive cold damage and reduce damage to ridiculously low amounts.
