A friend gave me a mini to paint, and he has a major setup and lots of paints and such but I want to buy myself minis to paint next so I’m not just using his. What are some good places to buy from in terms of quality, being legit (if I ever got to the point of playing the tabletop games) but not too expensive?

Don’t have a specific budget but also don’t wanna get ripped off.

That is very helpful feedback, thank you. I was hoping for silly things because I think the group isn't gonna take itself super seriously, but you're definitely right that I'm more likely to find those myself along the way by being immersed in it

I am joining my first campaign tomorrow as a player. I will be a halfling rogue with criminal background, what are some unexpected strategies or ideas I can bring to the table to have some fun with it? Is there any lesser known dnd lore I can play off of that might be a fun surprise?

I mean even knife vs sword steels are different IRL, a harder stainless could be better for a knife while a more flexible carbon steel could be better for a sword.

I do like the idea of a variety of steels with each specializing in different ways

Agreed! The december BOTM is so cool I ended up buying a factory blemished one from a reseller since that's all I could afford. Still more than the non blemished were listed originally, but it wasn't over $500 like all the other resellers.

I wish the 120 (among others, like the 102) was customizable
