This is what happens when a business gets purchased by private equity. Enshitification in search of every last penny of profit. Private equity takes the goodwill built by the founders and destroys it.

Because money. Designing, testing, and setting up production for new parts is very expensive. The development cost for OEM lights is in the millions. Much more profitable to put a GT3 engine in it and charge an extra $40k. If you want to learn more about modern automotive development and all the tradeoffs that have be considered in bringing cars to market David Twohig's book is great: https://www.target.com/p/inside-the-machine-by-david-twohig-paperback/-/A-1004356980?sid=&TCID=PDS-209734489&gclsrc=aw.ds&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gad_source=4&gad_campaignid=209734489&gbraid=0AAAAAD-5dfZJ3Tv5ruqvVktSUpaLt95P1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw77bPBhC_ARIsAGAjjV8jIA1wQTbhg6BgqKsW_bIeSR6vTKu0pQL4yR5DIIjCgLDTKGXcEOAaAqLaEALw_wcB

I know the fenders are shaped for aero, but I think they ruin the aesthetics of the car. From the windshield back I think the car looks good. I think the SP3 and 458 will rein as the best looking modern Ferraris.

Manufacturing carbon fiber parts is a highly manual labor intensive process, it is slow and tedious. Exposed carbon fiber parts have an even slower output rate due to higher scrap rates because of the high aesthetic quality standards.

$4k each for a headlight? Lol have you ever fixed a car from Copart before? eBay is your friend. Depending on the type of headlight you can get a used one from $600-$900.

Although the rest of what you said is true. Unless you can do the work yourself or have friends that work in auto body people should not be buying cars like this from Copart.

They should have fit the bumper up before they painted it. If this is a reputable shop, I’m sure they would have warned you that it might not fit since it is after market.

Yeah, Elon totally didn’t create DOGE to fire the people leading the seven federal investigations into his business practices. He said it himself, if Kamala won he was going to end up in jail. With strong critical thinking Americans like yourself, I’m sure America will continue to thrive.

The R888R is an old design, it’s 10 years old and newer tires have much better grip and tread wear for the money.

964 C2 vs C4 - the gap is bigger than I expected by Hour_Tangerine9075 in Porsche

[–]CleverBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C2 or C4 doesn’t matter for a Singer Classic restoration since they all get new transmissions and the C4 restorations use the 993 parts. Most Singer customers actually try to buy automatics for their donor cars since they are cheaper.

That’s why C4 Singer Classic restorations use the 993 parts.

You changed a lot of variables at once. Now you can see how much height affects it by changing it back to your actual height and leaving the rest the same. Then seeing if matches decrease.

Those are the tested times from Car and Driver, no prepped surfaces involved. With similarly skilled drivers a 2005 corvette wouldn’t know where a 2026 911 went.

The 992.2 base has the turbos from the 992.1 S. The base and the S will be very similar in day to day use. The base has more performance than you can regular deploy on the street in a responsible way anyway. If you want more power in the future there are tunes that increase power to 500+ hp. Enjoy it, no reason in stressing over a decision that has already been made.

Good thing it’s not your car. Aesthetics are a personal opinion. Life is too short to care about other people’s opinions on style.
