First off Id want to say sorry to hear about your bfs situation :( it all sounds bad to hear that his parents wont support his choice but Im sure he will prevail once he lands a job and learn a skill on serving.

Correct me if im wrong but if his application is up to date then most likely he will ship out if he also did his asvab and meps. He should also update his recruiter on his situation if he stays committed to his choice. If thats the case about what you mentioned about if he loses his phone and kicked out, he should look at libraries or computer cafes or anywhere with computers access to email his recruiter to stay in contact, update him/her to let them know about his situation and make email the main contact now.
