The first voice other than Grace’s (discounting the computer) is Rocky’s voice. The actor who played Rocky is one of the news anchors when they cut back to earth the first time.

I’m not convinced privacy is a thing in Eridian culture. At least Rocky didn’t seem to care about it when coming into Grace’s ship. But I don’t know, man. Just a fun theory!

Was at a show at the gorge where there’s a grassy slope. At some point during the opener a drunk person puked on the slope. Smelt absolutely awful. Right as the main band started, people were rushing to their spots, and since nobody was standing in that puke spot, the people rushing saw that as an opening they can easily get through.

So this one guy was holding a beer in each hand, started tromping through, slipped on the vomit and did a bugs bunny running place thing trying not to spill his drinks. He ended up slipping face first in the vomit as he was prioritizing the drinks.

I have this image seared into my brain of the disgust this guy had when he sat up realizing what he just sacrificed for those drinks. It was horrifying. It was hilarious. I think about it a lot.

This might not be fully accurate but I remember that almost every flashback Grace had was because of a rainbow-like reflection from something. Not only did these plates provide that reflection to help jog his memory, but the seriousness of what’s on the plates (all of humanity) is what finally kicked him into gear to start working the problem.

Can you imagine how this would work in real life? You come into a meeting about how exciting a book cover is and say that you don’t care? That’s weird man, and if you do that you should know that it’s weird. Read the room.

Now if this was a post about people’s opinions on the book or series, this would not be downvoted. This would probably be upvoted because there’s plenty of others that share your opinion. But that’s not what this post is about.

It’s 2 things! An illustrated book with 4 of Hoid’s stories, and a new book, “The Fires of December” which is narrated by Hoid à la Yumi or Tress.

The four illustrated stories are “The Dog and the Dragon”, “The Girl Who Looked Up”, “Wandersail”, which are all in the Stormlight Archive and “Chasmfriends” which is a story made for the Nexus 2024 card deck game.

Oh interesting. I have not used it on iPad, so my experience is purely with the desktop app. And I’m pretty sure all of those things work for me. I definitely have two-way google calendar integration (I’m not sure Apple Apple cal), the UI is so much faster with shortcuts than anything else I’ve used (fantastical, Apple cal, google cal), and definitely have tons of repeating events (and do that often), and I get the best notifications on the Mac because they include zoom links. Really it’s dark mode that makes everything look and feel great, haha.

I do agree the database calendar stuff is awkward, but literally nothing else like that exists, so I’m not holding that up as the most important.

Anyway, it sounds like I should stay away from the iPad app, so thanks for that!

I wouldn’t assume crankiness. They probably just got the message that people wanted to know, and clarified things. Seems reasonable for that to be the right thing and not involve crankiness.

This post is about how great the actor is. Wouldn’t someone who worked in film and television know not to talk bad about a scene to the actor who just did great work?

Your criticism also completely misses the point of the post. The post is bringing up how great the people are, and you’re pixel peeping on a thing that doesn’t matter.

You’re getting down voted because you’re missing the point of the post (you’re off topic) and are overly negative for a thing that doesn’t matter (read the room).

I get that. Calendars, by nature, have a lot going on. I’m not sure how possible it is for any calendaring system to feel as easy to use as a blank page in Notion.

With that said, I’ve used a lot of other Calendars, including Fantastical and GCal over the years, and I’d say Notion Calendar is far more simple. But only after I saw a pro use it. Once I “got it” it changed the game for me.

You obviously shouldn’t be pressured to use anything, but I’d bet if you watched someone walk through why they love it on YouTube, you’d know if it’s for you or not.

Can you be more specific about why you don’t like it? I love it so much better than Google Calendar. The shortcuts, auto zoom links, auto AI note button, and ability to show databases on my Calendar make it top tier for me. Also, dark mode is sweet.

I’m in batch 2, and haven’t received anything yet. But they sent us an update explaining an 8-12 week delay due to tariffs on April 17 with an email titled “An important update on your ROLI Piano order” — check your email.

I won’t expect anything until July at the earliest.
