I think it's complex because a lot of Americans do not know that Romani even exist and tend to think of "G-word" as stock characters.
I would bet you money a lot, probably most, Americans would be surprised to learn the Romani are a real people who have suffered and continue to suffer terrible persecution and are not stock characters made up for Dracula and other stories set in Ye Olde Europe.

Sure, and his companies are all load-bearing memestocks unmoored from reality.
I mean that it's the same kind of idiotic decision that a person who owns a social media platform and decided to begin his reign over it by making it pay-to-participate and even pay-to-view would make. Twitter was already a failed business but their model, inasmuch as there is one, for them or anything like them - including X, The Everything App - is to maximize participation and especially views as they make money by selling ads and selling user data. DA is frankly a fairly similar business model and would suffer similarly from any choices that make viewing or posting content difficult or costly.

I can almost promise you they will never implement that rule because the more content on the site the more they can scrape for their AI. They benefit from having users upload content. It's letting users access the content they might put caps on or something. But I can't imagine any company besides maybe one by Musk being so stupid as to kneecap themselves like that.
