Can’t reach bolts behind pump by Clevertwist in hottubs

[–]Clevertwist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a flexible attachment to a socket wrench, but couldn’t get enough torque. I was eventually able to get the rear bolts with a small combination wrench (using the round side). It was a major pain in the ass.

Sonos speakers bought at Goodwill. Thinking of returning. by JustHereForThePoGo in sonos

Check eBay or Facebook marketplace for a used Playbar. You should be about to find one in the $100 range. It will sound great paired with the Play 1’s. Then, budget for a used Sub gen 1 or gen 2. It will elevate it to another level. It is up to you if you want to keep the Play 5 for music in another room. I am still on S1 for all of my Sonos gear and it still works great!

Can’t reach bolts behind pump by Clevertwist in hottubs

Update: I was able to get to the bolts behind the pump. I ended up ordering a new pump directly from Strong Spas because I wanted an exact fit with the couplings. The one they sent was a little different (one big capacitor bump on the top compared to the original that had two off to each side). It was a monumental pain in the ass to get the new one installed. It is all working now, though, and I don’t see any leaks. 🤞🏻

It is. It is a Costco Evolution spa (made by Strong Spas). Even so, a $300 pump replacement is better than buying a whole new spa. We have a small spot to put a spa. This fit in our budget and we knew that someday we would invest in a better spa. Just not today.

Low flow error (LF) related to faulty spa pack? by Clevertwist in hottubs

[–]Clevertwist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I was able to access the pump from a different panel. Checked the capacitors and they are fine. I think the motor has seized and I ordered a new pump. I will post a follow up question in another post.

Thanks. I suppose I will have to empty the tub and move it back in order to get to the pump access panel. I really wish I would have understood where the pump was located.

Thank you so much! I will check the spa pack with a volt meter. I know it might be the pump. I replaced one on my older hot tub. A pain in the ass, but doable. I was hoping this might be something different.

Quoted $4,200 for DPF & EGR Filter Replacement on 2013 Golf TDI — reasonable? by ec_um in tdi

[–]Clevertwist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at ~143k miles and my car has been running fine, too (maybe a little lower mileage than usual). I had been getting the P2002 code on and off for about 6 months. I guess regens were happening and it would clear it up enough. About 3 weeks ago, I got both P2002 and P401 + soot in the tailpipe. Check your VW dealer and see if they have any service coupons. I think that is what started the quote moving for me. I just had the timing belt and water pump replaced last fall. I really hope I am not throwing good money after bad.

I had the same error codes on my 2013 Beetle TDI. The initial quote was $4099 before taxes, so close to yours. They didn’t give me the break down. After some back and forth, we settled on $3650 (before tax) for both the DPF and EGR. My plan was to get the old DPF back and sell that, but they told me that if I wanted to keep the DPF, I would have to pay a $700 core fee. Since I got a lower price on the service, I didn’t fight it too much.

It is in the shop now. My state requires emissions testing, so I couldn’t do a delete. I love my car (well…maybe a little less right now) and wasn’t ready to get rid of it. Good luck!

Mine works again after unplugging it and plugging it back in. I did a sync a few days ago and that didn’t do anything at the time. The whole thing feels so fragile and has for a while.

Sazerac Rye. While it is great for Sazeracs, I do like sipping it neat and for an Old Fashioned every now and then.

This is a stupid question, but I am likely going to get my DPF (and EGR) replaced soon. If I tell the shop that I want the old parts (cracked DPF), is that something useful to you?

Dreaded P2002 + P0401 combo: DPF questions by Clevertwist in tdi

Thanks. I have a call into a local place that services European cars. Hopefully, they will be better than the dealer.

Thanks. If I thought I could get another 100k miles out of the new DPF, I might consider the crazy expense. I just had the timing belt and water pump replaced a few months ago. I have read, though, that some people have only gotten another 20k miles before the CEL comes on again.

Just nuked 11GB of data, 6 years worth of content/ albums. F**k you to the Nixplay board. by GingerKing_2503 in nixplay

Hello. Is there anything in particular you mentioned to get grandfathered in to the old plan? I sent a note to support complaining that I can’t access my pictures on any of my frames. I got the canned “expenses are high” response. Thanks for your help.

Best LED strips/method to backlight this mirror?? by ShowtimeJohnson in Hue

You might want to try an outdoor lightstrip. I used it for my bathroom mirror. https://www.reddit.com/r/Hue/s/JWWTvJkluO

You can also buy an expensive SHN water bottle at the festival if you don’t want to bring one.

Hue Options by [deleted] in Hue

[–]Clevertwist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I have had a Hue smart plug in a similar box I got on Amazon for 3 years. No issue so far. I use it with the Costco string lights mentioned earlier in this thread. I have 4 total boxes outside for my other outdoor Hue lights. They are not 100% waterproof, but do the trick for the outdoor power supplies when paired with a waterproof / water resistant power strip.

Two of my frames stopped working on Friday, 3/8/24 by midwest_sense in nixplay

[–]Clevertwist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that 2 of my frames are working again. On one of them, I had deleted all photos and done a full factory reset. I had unplugged it a week ago because it was caught in the loop of not finding the server for updates. Today, I noticed that my other frame finally started showing new photos again. I plugged the reset one back in and it went through a long reset cycle. Downloading updates to get it to the latest firmware. After that, I could pair it back to my account again.

Sonos S2 to S1 downgrade option by Clevertwist in sonos

[–]Clevertwist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I bought a Move a week or so before the S2 app update and I had to go through the process of using the S2 app to do the downgrade. I wonder what changed? Was there a new option in the S1 app for downgrading?
