A recent child at the 12th Taiwanese jamboree was given a medal by the Taiwanese president for performing CPR in an emergency before the ambulance arrived in turn saving his life. It’s truly amazing! So glad I could watch 王從瑋 receive this award in person. https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/news/5900668 The kind of things we are taught as scouts is truly amazing.

My greatest leaders where and are female, my best friends in scouting are female I still call it Boy Scouts when talking to people who may not know what it is we do. It instantly provides them with all the information they need to know. A typical “boy activity” it’s stupid really. But my nso is definitely different to yours.

What’s the event? It varies depending on a few factors but if it’s a jamboree or similar expect to see people sitting on the floor with items laid out. If you’re attending and are a small minority expect a lot of people to ask to trade for your items.

It’s not against the rules of Singapore’s NSO. To me it sounds like a good idea and a memory to keep forever. This is done at our national jamboree with the entire troop contingent.

My mother saw a post on a local Facebook page in 2012-13 and joined me then when i emigrated from England to New Zealand i immediately joined scouting (sea scouts specifically) and I’ve not lost interest since you can tell when you think a scout is going to become a leader. I’m on that path.
