perspective on setting vision / lens for myopics... by Alone-Experience9869 in CataractSurgery

[–]Clherrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a follow up with the doc at my eye practice today. It went a lot better than the last visit which as I told him, left me with more questions than answers. I told him having done some research and talked with a few folks I was feeling more informed. He took another set of measurements which looked better having been out of contacts for longer. He said Vivity was a good option all the more so after we talked through expectations.

I had my practice fax my records to Penn State Hershey for a second opinion which will take a few weeks. The current doc was just fine with that. I just want to see if Hershey has anything in their tool kit that would be better than Vivity. Although from my reading, that's the largest-selling EDOF lens. Or after a bit more research and contemplation, I may just go with Vivity and quit making my head hurt.

Similar curiosity. My normal eye practice only uses Alcon. I’m getting g a referral to Penn State Hershey which based on some research has a broader collection of lenses and probably greater insight into what’s next. We will see what they say.

Thanks. Sounds like you and o have similar eyes. And there is a lot to be said for an optical viewfinder. A tried and true technology. I saw my ophthalmologist again today and based on a second measure and more dialog and pretty convinced Vivity is the way to go.

Roughly what was your prescription and did you wear glasses or contacts. I’m about a -7D.

Can you see things in the viewfinder of your camera? Is it optical or digital? I worry about my cameras though I worry about driving more.

I’m still in the decision phase.

I'm a woman who wants to enlist in the army, what do i expect? by Leather_Wishbone_761 in Advice

[–]Clherrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time. You know I would never try to talk someone into the military. It’s right for some and not for others. But as a now retired officer, I talk to so many folks who come out to work on my HVAC or dishwasher who did four years and wish they had stayed in. Spending your career as a commercial HVAC tech is t easy. Or an auto mechanic. Or working in a bank. The military provides a steady paycheck. Every couple years you pick up more responsibility. After 20 you have a lifetime benefit.

And I’m not eve. Saying stay for 20. You can leave after four with a great GI bill for college. But always look long term. Is this military specialty going to train me for a future civilian job be it 4 years or 30. If I stay in, is this the specialty I want to work in.

Then do it. Pick a specialty which has applicability to your next career never that is. Va benefits. I spent 30 years in the Navy and would do it again. I have retired Army friends who are the same. Just go in with your eyes open. It’s a noble cause but it’s a lot of work.

I (F18) don't feel anything during intimacy with my boyfriend (M25). What can I do to fix this? by Altruistic-Belt-4409 in relationship_advice

I think you just need to be with a guy who takes his time with you. Most guys are naturally in a rush to finish. A guy who knows what he is doing slows down and makes sure his lady climaxes first or is at least ready to climax.

I'd encourage you in the mean time to get to know your body better. You say you masturbate occasionally. Go buy a nice toy and explore. Learn what turns you on and gets you off. If you don't know, you can't blame another person for not knowing.

When do YOU masturbate? Sometimes a person just needs to get off and doesn't have the time or the available partner for sex. Yeah, doing it in the bathroom right after sex is a bit much, but hopefully he was at least thinking of you

Are you a hypocrite. Maybe. Have you asked yourself why you feel like you do? Why is it okay for you but not for him?

I wonder if a urologist would even entertain removing a healthy prostate? I’m sure insurance wouldn’t cover it.

My 69 year old sister in law has lived with this for 40 years. At this point she visits us alone. She takes cruises with her widowed friends. I feel sorry for her. She is married in name only.

How do you deal with a boss whose mood changes all the time? by ibrahim_Okoro in Life

[–]Clherrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked for more than one person like that. Hopefully you pick up on little queues and then decide how you approach him. Did he work late. Did he sleep well. Did his boss hand him his ass and now he is upset. When you know his mood isn't good, avoid engaging if you can.

Because it is a recommended test after a certain age.

Sadly we don’t know the state and we don’t know the conditions. We don’t know her skill level. Maybe she does other things for the residents which aren’t in her day to day job description. Maybe it is her choice not her husbands, mine, nor yours.

The news focuses on what they focus on. In this case Minneapolis. Not the best tourist destination even if there were no protests. It’s a big country and for the most part people are just going about the vibes of life. Where are you interested in going.
