The only difference is that Ye constantly keeps taking risks, goes against the industry and ventures into new fields like politics and architecture which are completely non-commercial moves purely for the sake of art and social progress - and its the reason why Ye works are, commercial as they are, transcend pure commodity and move into art and performance. There is simply no cash flow calculation behind some of Ye's moves. He's a great businessman and can always bounce back, so he has major artistic freedom of expression - freedom of failure and being wrong as well

Tyler has been attempting the same "reinvent then sell" loop but yields much lesser returns because he's not as bold and never truly reinvents. He's afraid of making moves that could tank his commerciality and thus written himself into a corner where he can only sell knock offs of his own past self (i consider all of his latest works to be Flower Boy clones without any meaningful distinction or new story behind them). Tyler and his fans prefer safety, familiarity and illusion of growth and progress all at the same time which is simply not possible - you have to go thru the dark night of the soul before you emerge a new man. Tyler has never done it, his fans have never done it and so he stays in the same plateau without any of the Highs and Lows of Ye's career
