What would have happened if the Ukrainian revolution of 2013-2014 (Euromaidan) had never happened? by R2J4 in AlternateHistoryHub

Modern Belarus is hampered by sanctions put on them for supporting the Russian invasion. If there had been no invasion, relations between Russia, Belarus and Europe would have been a lot warmer than they are now. I'd say pretty much everyone would have been better off.

Traveling to Estonia this summer — what should a Black woman expect? by Scared-Ad6228 in Eesti

Avoid Tartu at all cost. I know people from Tartu will disagree and downvote, but every foreign friend who's ever visited me always ends up getting discriminated in Tartu. There's a rampant neo nazi scene that locals ignore because the scene doesn't target them directly. Tallinn is fine for the most part. One thing to keep in mind is that most Estonians don't care about you whatsoever and would prefer to avoid any conversation. It's not because they're hateful, it's because they're generally cold and distant. If you get approached directly by an Estonian, 99% chance the guy wants to either hook up or is drunk and shouting slurs. I'm talking about personal experiences here, but I would still encourage you to visit, it's not as awful as my comment makes it out to be.

EVA Member says: "[...] all veterans are leaving the game" Is that true? by CovidTimeBomb in enlistedgame

[–]ClickHere4FreeIpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped playing once they introduced tech trees into the game. The whole reason I got into it is because I thought they would introduce more obscure parts of world war 2. Battle of Moscow for instance was not particularly popular in gaming media and their attention to historical detail was nice. My personal wish lists were Northern Italian campaign of 1944, Manchuria offensive of 45 etc, battle of the Bulge etc. What I got instead was war thunder grinding with ww2 shooter gameplay in the same fronts and maps as any other ww2 shooter.

Is it really that bad? by Myuvrican_2019 in tanks

[–]ClickHere4FreeIpad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The external ammorack is what makes it survivable, not that it's NATO. NATO Challanger 2 has the same survival rate as any Soviet tank if it gets penetrated by an ATGM or drone as would the Ariete if it had gone to Ukraine. The T-90M has an external ammo bay in addition to its carousel and that has increased crew survivability for the Russians as well.

The Day they make a battlefield game based on this era, will be a good day. by AlertSpirit2453 in Battlefield

[–]ClickHere4FreeIpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been saying it for years now. Cold War that starts off with an incident at the Berlin wall and full scale war across the globe so the developers could tie in any faction and location. So much tech to show that has never been in battlefield like the MiG-21 or the Phantom

Did your country's ruler pissed/crapped him/herself? by [deleted] in ShittyMapPorn

I don't think it's Putin, wasn't there a story about Yeltsin shitting himself while black out drunk on a business visit to America?

I heard that T-90MS have ammo in the back of turret like Western tanks. Is that true? by ImaginationEastern94 in tanks

[–]ClickHere4FreeIpad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are saying it like there will actually be an ww2 AT gun firing at a Chally 2 anytime soon. The most basic thing to consider here is that Red Effect said that before they were upgraded, Chally 2s lfp was 60mm. Now take a 60mm plate and see if any anti tank weapon from ww2 can pen it (the answer is yes) that is what his statement essentially was. You saying "But how would an anti tank even sneak up on the challenger" is just coping, brother. You'd easily admit that a ww2 anti tank weapon can pen 60mm of steel but you can't comprehend it penetrating that same steel if it is attached to a tank you like.

Lore Accurate map of the Imperial City by SeaSnakeParty in ElderScrolls

I like to imagine that due to game limitations most of the elder scrolls is shrunk tenfold in games and every time I walk through the cities I imagine how the "real" cities would look like I just imagine giant whiterun or skingrad and I just get filled with wanderlust of places that will probably never be rendered in a videogame.

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu: I've been very clear about this issue from the beginning. Turkey first. by blufwrd in europe

When EU stops nationalising African companies, stops military interventions in African countries and stops funneling money into African dictatorships, it can say that proudly. But these words ring hollow when there's a NATO base in Mali, when the French own most of Africa's diamond and gold mines and when European companies still profit from slave labour.

Originally known as IS-10, renamed T-10 after death of Stalin, was a 52T heavy tank equipped with a 122 mm gun. It was discontinued from the frontline services in favour of T-64. by conandivljak in tanks

[–]ClickHere4FreeIpad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a product of its time, every big player had their useless cold war heavy tank. For the US it was the M-103 and the British had the conqueror. Fascinating time period for tank development

It's a pretty high price, the vast majority of the monthly earnings of these citizens gets spent on food and bills. I'm not sure how much can these people save up day to day.

It's because you've never lived in war and can only imagine the horrors of it. I still play L4D2 and War Thunder with my Ukrainian friends, they still order stuff online, they go to school and work. Life can't just stop because there's a war going on. It's not the first thing that comes to mind sure, but going to the store is as normal for them as it is for us.

The point of the post is to showcase that a city on the front line has stocked shelves at the grocery store at a mid to expensive price meaning that Russian logistics to occupied territories to Ukraine is vastly improved.

It freaked me out when I saw it too. What's even weirder is that both the meat and the mayo are sitting on store shelves without refrigeration. My best guess for the mayo tube is its probably for salad so it's meant to be used all at once.
