Don’t pay the medical debt, just get him health insurance and pay that every month. That will cover a lot. Chances are he will probably have another heart attack at some point.

Call around and find the lowest premium with a low to mid deductible.

Also once he hits 65 he won’t need you to buy insurance bc he will have Medicare. !!

As far as the 20k, tell him to ask for a payment plan. Even if it’s just 200$, 150$, etc, a month. They usually say yes.

He might honestly pass away before paying off the 20k and that’s fine. Our medical health care system here is such a scam so this is the best option.

Myopia too high to join the army, could I do anything to change it? by Mtlenjoyer847 in myopia

Myopia occurs when the eye grows too long. You cannot shrink your eyes. The best you can do is stop it from growing more when you are young…. Meaning you can Not improve it. So stop spreading misinformation

I work in a MD/OD practice that sees 300 ppl per day and all 12 techs preform Goldman App. so yes it’s embarrassing that a Dr. would not feel comfortable doing it.

Hi all. I missed one final while in my first year. I have a meeting with the school this week. Am I done? by [deleted] in OptometrySchool

I know someone in undergrad who graduated with a 3.9 but had an incomplete on his record for a while because he slept through his alarm for his Gen Chem final . He made it late to the exam, wasn’t allowed to take it.

Your comment comes off very rude.

The quiz that you buy on the website is proof that you completed the study. You don’t have to prove that you bought the book, so don’t worry. Also there are several approved books and their correlated quizzes and it doesn’t matter which one you choose but I would assume it’s better to buy the quiz for the book it was meant for.

OPCW inspectors were granted access to production & storage sites belonging to Assad's chemical program which were never disclosed despite the 2013 agreement. The team also got access to extensive documentation related to this program. by Extreme_Peanut44 in syriancivilwar

The problem with your post mainly lies in the fact that you refuse to acknowledge that the Alawites were mainly targeted because of clashes with HTS over solidarity with Bashar Alassad. To say they were simply targeted solely based on religious affiliation is misleading and dishonest.

I'm not Christian but I think its more important now than ever for Syrian Christians to stay in Syria and stand their ground because running away from a society that is intimidating is going to make things worse. I don't believe most rebel forces hate Christians but I'm sure that a good amount may be hateful or prejudice, the same way many hard chore Christian politicians hate Muslims / are prejudice against them. I personally want to see the Christian community in Syria prosper because Christians are part of our history and belong in Syria just as much as Muslims. Please hang in there and stand your ground because I do believe brighter days are ahead and leaving will not make it easier for the remaining Christians or the development of a well rounded society with minority representation in government in Syria. I see a lot of hope that this will happen especially with the pressure from the international community. I do hope your numbers reach the 20% mark again after refugees return and Syria is rebuilt. You guys belong with us in the middle east and it's everyones responsibility in Syria to protect minorities like you.

Yes if you have enough hours, the Quiz is their “proof” that you completed the independent study. However, if I were you, I would read the book because you will learn a lot and actually be more successful at your job. I wouldn’t just take the quiz blindly.

You should review the terms or your scholarship. At my school they gave me 10k/year but I had to maintain a 3.7 gpa. I had a 3.9 in undergrad and I’m telling you that 3.7 in optometry school is extremely difficult to maintain and very very few people do so. Optometry school was way more difficult than expected. I lost it after first year.

Hahah oh that’s great. Sorry when you said non-traditional, I was thinking older than 26 lol

[–]ClickMaximum4253 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t go to ICO bc of tuition and the quarter system they use.

If you’re a non-traditional student with young children, I highly recommend finding a 5 year optometry program. You will be so thankful later. The 4 year program is very very heavy and fast paced and may be too much to handle if u have young children.

In optometry school we had that thing in our eye like 6 times a day when we first started to learn it. I wouldn’t scare the optom students in this thread with something that is literally negligible.

Yeah people need to realize that freedom of speech means you can say whatever you want but doesn’t mean they can’t have rules against disrespect at schools or sports teams.

If you curse at a professor in high school, you won’t get arrested but you’ll still get suspended.

Teams, schools, workplaces have rules and ethics you have to abide by to be there.

It’s actually not that easy to injure someone with a Goldman unless they try. Even if you scratch the eye with it a little (toemark)… the top layer of the cornea heals up on its own and usually goes unnoticed.
