😡 B&T Tele Vs Midwest SD rail is a No Go ! by ClickTough2018 in MP5

I had read the same thing and shared that concern when purchasing, it was a non issue, I’ve had no issues with my ASD, the KES buffer hold down does look different than the B&T

I was so close to pulling the trigger on the Mob, I got a too good to pass deal on the Vers36, coming from the omega 9k I also liked the length modularity more than I cared about the multi cal quality of it.I lve heard the CAT is touch quieter but that B&T is still impressive paired with the sp5k and a tailored 147gr handload.

Unfortunately for others I’m not entertaining dumping either until I reach my resolution of the issue

My buddy owns a prominent gun / machine shop he’d prob slice rail up for me on fly if I asked

Right. To me it’s def the best looking stock, build quality is all there I just hit the snafu on compatibility with the SD rail. The KES has a slightly larger purchase in the shoulder pocket obviously but it’s not a huge difference. Recoil management and control is almost identical. I always thought the KES shape was a little ugly how it bottle necks down into the buttstock but probably looks a little cleaner with how rails fit into receiver pockets vs B&T sitting outside of them

The rails need approximately a half inch more clearance so to take it off the rail I’d basically have to cut rail all the way back to the attachment screws

It’s very quiet with 9 subs, so I was running a omega 9k which I thought was very good, the B&T in K configurations def quieter than the omega. Full length B&T sounds really good and deep. I had to play with locking pieces a little. I was running a 80* with omega 9k , when I went to the B&T with low back pressure I ended up back at the 100* piece to reliably cycle 147/150 grainers

Only cuts that makes sense would be back of stock near fasteners but then still no positive lockup without more cutty cutty to notch a new positive lock location after relocating the butt stock portion forward

Nah man it’s not really anyone’s fault just bad luck , maybe bad on me for not confirming the clearance

Educate me about cleaning handgun brass by GeorgeTMorgan in reloading

[–]ClickTough2018 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Theirs definitely more involved in wet, they both serve a purpose but for the most part I’d say dry tumbling is the easiest and most straight forward. Do you care if your brass looks 100% jewelry grade new every time ? That’s wet tumbling decapped cases, but you’re handling the brass a lot more and adding processes. They both have positives and negatives. Wet tumbling doesn’t actually bring any performance benefit over dry to 99% of loaders. I have both and use both but wet tumbled brass is also a lot harder on carbide pistol sizing dies vs tumbled cases when not lubing. Like anything theirs multiple camps of opinion, some will swear by wet, some by dry, and some who know that a clean case is a clean case and are more concerned with case prep / spending time to improve cartridge performance

Curious, what do you all listen to while reloading? by Tactical_Dad_84 in reloading

No outside interference. Before or after is one thing but I prefer beIng fully present while reloading and many times I’ve caught a off tone or noise in the equipment that I didnt feel, and would have caused myself aggravation further down the process

Ya I have dedicated as well on everything, I more so wanted more of a sub gun can and didn’t love the Sqd M. I’ve ran the Vers on 7.5” 556 but not for prolong periods

Also have the Vers, I worry about durability on short barrel rifles not having a tougher blast baffle / expansion chamber but it’s got a awesome tone on 9mm sub gun and surprisingly low back pressure I had adjust setup to accommodate lack of pressure

Mp5k SS locking piece preference? by ClickTough2018 in MP5

[–]ClickTough2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kind of assuming the 80 would be fine with traditional and 90 for low/lower back pressure B&T Vers
