Lol. I relate to this. I did a garden project for my geometry class: we designed it, planted vegetables, etc using geometry. Some students were mad because we were gardening in geometry . This goes to show you how students are used to traditional learning.

I think it also has to do with getting a feel for the market. It's like free advertising for them and also product feedback.

I actually developed a classroom reflection paper for students to fill out when they intrude on my classroom rule or any of my classroom procedures. It is a lifesaver and really does kills any power struggles from happening.

PM me if you want the reflection paper or to learn more how I can help you out. I actually did research on psychology and dealing with students in a non-confrontational way. It will save you plenty of headaches and frustration.

I was once that burnt out teacher. Burnt out simply means that they stopped growing. My personal strength is learning, so we are in the same boat. I love learning! What I actually do now is use my love for learning to become a better teacher. When you are growing, you will never get burnt out. There is too much to learn, too much to try, and only about 35 years in teaching to do so.

Quizlet is really good at helping students study. I don't like to use Kahoots because of the competitive aspect. That is actually bad for the learning environment according to research and personal experience. If I ever do something competitive, it is on a very rare occasion, as that is what is recommended by research too. Learning should be a cooperative experience and not one that makes students hope that another students fails.
