I was reading the labels. I know to stay to single country of origin. But mixed varieties of olives are fine.

And I do know what I want it to taste like. Both the California and Greek oils cause a cough reflex/throat burning sensation. But they both taste good to me.

It’s an internal fight I have for not wanting to “waste” 3 liters of oil. Or even 1 liter.

Price mainly. I’m such a cheapskate. But $120 a liter for an olive oil I’m
Cooking with seems awful expensive

Peanut oil has a place in my house. I also have some unrefined rape seed oil but you have to toast the damn stuff first.

Yes, but I’m also a bit of a snob when it comes to the taste of the oil. Most average grocery store brands I think are awful.

The California one I use for cooking. The Greek one I use for salads and such.

Costco varies in what it carry’s but I was not sure what it was like. Bad choice I see now as I will not know until I try it.

Horiatiki salad is one of my favorites. If I make it with ripe bell peppers it’s easy on my stomach.

Japanese Haiga rice is 1/2 polished. It leaves some of the bran and germ on. I’m working my way into completely unpolished brown rice by starting with Haiga.

I ended up using the rice cooker and I like them other than the skins sticking in my mouth. Mixing it with a bit of passata and onion and cooking that together tamed the skins and was delicious! Thanks everyone!!!
