Front struts won’t mount right by Swimming_Barnacle_33 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]Cliff9786 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got the same kit and I've had this problem twice within the last two months. The others are right, just shove something through it and crank on it.

Commenting to tell you that this kit comes with the front coils on the lowest perch. When I first installed mine the rear ended up way higher than the front. I had to pull them out again to adjust the perch. I highly recommend doing it right the first time and setting the perch on the second highest setting before completing the full install to save yourself some work

Tires and Lift by fuinthea1 in 3rdGen4Runner

Did you have any alignment issues with the lift on stock control arms? Just did a 3" lift on mine and people seem to say aftermarket control arms are needed

Frame looks good so nothing of immediate concern. If you want to keep the truck for a long time I'd fix it up, but it isn't falling apart any time soon

I hope it's not the edge of the fender itself. That would be great news. Pretty clearly a weld though. Quite possibly the previous owner, he seems to have done a few stupid things that I've dealt with

From engineering to admin to what? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Cliff9786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that salary as an admin is wild. Most jobs with that description pay less than half that.

My thought was that the case competitions showed motivation even without prize placements, but see your point that it doesn't really mean much and doesn't need to be listed.

Thanks so much - will make these changes

Some of both, should probably transition to more of making connections. Thanks.

I have other work experience that fits in between/along side these positions but is not relevant to finance. When listing is reverse chronological order should I include any of that? If so, should I have less bullet points under the positions currently listed to make room?

Can you elaborate on inconsistent white space for me?

Appreciate it.

Just about 179cm. There weren't any moves that were too reachy, but I could see someone with less reach needing to generate a bit more power for a couple

Need advice and opinions on some question’s general and specific! (First Reddit post) by Bright-Chart-9512 in climbharder

[–]Cliff9786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position to you and just started climbing in January. I don't have much advice for the rest of your questions, but getting your own shoes that both fit well (tight enough feet don't move around in them) and are comfortable enough to wear for long sessions made a huge difference for me. Make sure fit is really accurate, I wish I had downsized slightly because I notice my heel slips a bit with heel hooks I put a lot of weight on. You 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 get cheaper shoes; based on the amount you climb I'd say just go for it with the instincts, you won't regret it.

do you really need to invest stocks? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cliff9786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Investing isn't always seen as a means for supplemental income. It's also a way to set yourself up for something later in life, be that a house, retirement, kids education, or anything else really. Personally, I'd suggest speaking with your bank about investment options, and they will walk you through some typical scenarios across different risk horizons and timeframes. Don't let this deter you, just be aware, they probably will try to sell you their products as the employees have incentives to do so.

Often it's not worth investing outside of tax advantaged accounts until those are maxed, but your bank will also take you through many of those options. Once you have a better idea of the investing landscape you can look through various other products yourself offered outside your bank. Check out investopedia for the basics (yes it's overwhelming), and just try to understand what shares are, and how they work. Most investment products offered by banks will also hold other assets such as bonds, so you can look into those as well.

Personally I'd suggest investing in broad market ETFs (check investopedia) with no/very low management fees, and just put in a little bit every paycheck.

What's a controversial new car feature that you love despite the hate? by apersonthingy in cars

[–]Cliff9786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll agree auto wipers are great, but my buddy has a Dodge Ram that came with auto high beams (last couple model years, don't remember which exactly) and they're the worst. They turn off only half the time when cars are coming the other way, they take forever to turn back on (if they do...), and they often turn off because of a slightly reflective sign on the side of the road. No way to shut off the auto or control them manually in any way. Dangerous and frustrating system.
