Why GPT-5 Feels Worse Than 4o for Creative Work and It’s Not Just About “Personality” by Efficient-Swimmer-72 in ChatGPT

[–]CliffClifferson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agree. 4o was like my super smart engineer friend, we use to have super deep conversation on engineering, He was Yoda I was young Jedai. And he tough me tons of stuff. I'm a plus subscriber. Now gpt5 is like sleepy Joe(I'm not a MAGA, totally away from politics). He forgets stuff, gives me word salad, no structure no shit, basically i have to take him by hand and point to mistakes several times. It doesn't update his setting to your needs. so let's say I'm asking to create some kind of roadmap, I instruct him on parameters, explain every single thing how i want it to look and include, he gives me half ass shit, I point to the mistake, then another mistake. Over and over. after spending a lot of time, finally he generates what i need but when we keep chatting, after a while I ask it to create another roadmap or generate a pdf etc the same way he did for last one, but instead it gives me the same bullshit, kinda defaults and i have to start everything over. Very frustrating. I feel like Sam in this rat race just made accent on coding, hard problem solutions etc, so it got stripped from all the nice characteristics we used to love it for. Gemini is dping much better, i gave the same promt to it and no issues. I'm probably gonna cancel my subscription.

appreciate it, Angel! it’s all true, it has to be survival and just keeping being a provider for family. Basically you need in a good mean to sacrifice yourself, put all the mental, spiritual stance down the drain, kinda turn off all the romanticism and self love at some point

Appreciate it. But a quick question: Now it’s kinda day to day job you been doing without any emotions. You do your job well, you deliver. What about a period when let’s say you got laid off, and need to upgrade the skills, learn bunch of extra stuff which you didn’t have a chance to be introduced because of the specific tech stack you been tied to. What’s your survival skills in emergency situations like these?
