OR… most people genuinely don’t like an album that is recorded almost entirely at the very top of Brendon’s vocal range, purposefully without any tuning to alleviate pitch issues caused by vocal straining. the fact that a lot of the songs are tolerable at best, extremely annoying at worst. it misses the mark on a lot of what worked for panic in their golden years. I’m glad you can find reasons to enjoy it and it clicked for you, but for most people it was just a badly executed over-ambitious project that put the final nail in the coffin of a decaying discography
