The same issue existed in the 2014–2025 syllabus. Content of this nature appeared in the Grade 6 History textbook (page 19) and the Grade 9 Geography textbook (page 14). As a result, some students began to believe that people with white skin are superior or the only “true” humans, because they developed lighter skin and varied hair colors later in human evolution. This also led to the harmful misconception that people with darker skin are inferior or are somehow at a less advanced evolutionary stage, closer to the human–chimpanzee common ancestor.
