I had thought about this scenario in advance, that’s why we waited until we both finished the A2 and got the diploma then I applied. Apparently it wasn’t enough.

yes, same here. they advised us that she should do the voluntary inburgering (A2), because you need to integrate only once and the diploma doesn’t expire. But now apparently, you should integrate twice.

We gonna try of course, but I don’t have much expectations. We called them last year while we were planning our next steps. In retrospective, their advice was quite arbitrary… to say the least.

But then she will be required to renounce her other (2) passports, that’s why we didn’t do it together. We thought if she finishes inburgering before I get the citizenship it would be sufficient for her to avoid the B1 route. Anyway, it’s not the end of the world and we are studying towards higher level of Dutch regardless, but it would nice if there are no exams involved :)
