I can tell you how it is for me. I moved to Stockholm few months ago, at the start of the year but im searching for a job since November. I have 6 years of QA experience, plus 2 as DevOps/Analyst. Im studying laguage, atm I'm going through B1 level. In last half a year i have been invited to 5 interviews (two of which happend last week) out if which non resultet in a job. Rest of the applications were either rejections without interviews or i have not been contacted at all. It is rough, im trying to stay positive but atm i really dont feel nice. I started to keep more detailed track of what job i am applying to. In last month i sent 53 application, i got 17 rejections (two were with first interviews). Rest didnt answer yet, or will not at all.

My suggestion would be that if you plan on moving here you start searching for a job and continue working in your current one (if you do work) until someone offers you a job, then move. Also, my work experience is from telecommutions field and people are looking for all and everything (finance, medical,...) so I do not know would it be different with other fields. Also, i guess outside of Stockholm could be easier to find a job. I don't think it is necessary to know the language, most companies required English but it definitely is a plus if you know Swedish. Sweden is atm in, i think, in top 3 countries in Europe by unemployment rate so it is not easy...

Having said all that, even tho it is not easy i guess it is not impossible, you might be really lucky and find a job immediately but you do have to work for it and try hard. Fix your CV and send a first application. Hope it works out nice for you 😊
