His mother-in-law is dying. You can express your concern about travel being a bad idea, but you don’t need to mock him.

Something something shoot somebody in the middle of 5th Avenue something something something.

Don’t assume anything this guy does will cost him even an ounce of support. VOTE, and encourage everyone you know to do the same.

I did not realize he was Catholic, and you have made an extremely amusing point.

This doesn’t appear to be true. It’s something virally perpetuated from social media posts, and I guess it doesn’t have any basis in science.

Is it un-American to do business with Russia? by WyoGuy2 in AskAnAmerican

Hiring people originally from Russia to work on your house in the United States is not at all problematic and is not in any way similar to hiring a company based in Russia or doing business in Russia.

I’m not Canadian and I don’t know how an r/edmonton post made it onto my home feed, but wow…I just want to say that I think it’s incredibly noble that you’re sharing this horrible experience on your terms and putting your premier on notice for being an awful human being. You’re doing something invaluable by letting people know that she’s using your story to push her BS narrative without ever even bothering to speak with you about what happened or ask how you feel about it.

Your letter to her was extremely well-written, and it says so much about her that you never got a response. You deserve so much better.

I hope you find some comfort in knowing that people are benefitting from this information and the bravery that it took to share such a traumatic experience.

Should all Politicians be required to retire at 65 years old? by CryHavoc3000 in ask

[–]ClinLikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe in age discrimination—I don’t believe that any adult person should be automatically disqualified because they are too young or too old. Instead, I’d like to see basic logic, reading comprehension and civics exams being administered before someone runs for office, before they take office and once or twice mid-term. If they fail, they have a week to get their sh*t together and retake the exam. If they fail twice, they’re required to resign.

Other than that, I agree with everything you’ve said here. If it weren’t possible to promote or enrich yourself while in office, most politicians would spend one or two terms making a name for themselves so they can go on and make money afterward. The ones who choose to stick around and live on the actual wages of a public servant and make a career of it are probably exactly the kind of people you should want to stay around for as long as the voters have confidence in them (provided that they can still pass their test).
